PRETORIA, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping and his South African counterpart, Jacob Zuma, held talks here Wednesday, discussing ways to further the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two emerging economies.

China has the capability and willingness to provide more to the Asia Pacific and the world at large, it said. A booming China means greater opportunities and interests for the region and the world.

Another case in point was the visit by China's top legislator Zhang Dejiang in June, when the outbreak of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) was taking its toll in South Korea. Zhang's visit was lauded by South Korean officials, saying it helped the country ease MERS anxieties.

"China's economic reform will have huge positive impact on China and on the Asia-Pacific region to ensure sustainable, long-term and equitable economic growth," Flores said, adding that China's stability and progress is a strong foundation for Asia-Pacific economic development.

The leaders urged further steps to promote East Asia integration, deepen cooperation in trade and economy, finance and investment, increase regional inter-connectivity, accelerate negotiations for the RCEP, encourage people-to-people exchanges, and actively address non-traditional security challenges, so as to promote peace and prosperity of East Asia.
