Such was the case for officers in North Ridgeville, Ohio, who received a call from a man who said while walking home from a train station, a pig started following him, and he didn't know what to do.Thinking he had just left the bar in Elyria named the Train Station, police went out to pick up the caller, who they believed was drunk.When officers arrived, they found the man stone-cold sober, complete with his four-legged stalker in tow.According to authorities, the man told them he was walking home from an Amtrak station when the animal decided to go for a walk with him.In the end, the pig was very cooperative and was placed in the back of a police cruiser and taken to the station. Police made the animal feel at home for a bit inside the department's dog kennels until the owner was notified, and it was picked up.Authorities didn't say if the owner was cited for having a pig on the loose.  1021

A study published Wednesday found that these measures failed to detect infections in new Marine recruits before they started training, even after several weeks of quarantine. Many recruits had no symptoms yet still spread the virus. Genetic testing revealed six separate clusters of cases among the recruits.The work has implications for colleges, prisons, meatpacking plants and and other places that rely on symptom screening. Doctors say more COVID-19 testing is needed, especially in younger people who often don't develop symptoms.An estimated 20% of coronavirus infections do not result in symptoms. NEW YORK (AP) — A statue of late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will be built in her native Brooklyn. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the memorial Saturday. Ginsburg died Friday of complications from metastatic pancreatic cancer at age 87. A legal trailblazer and champion of women’s rights, she became the high court’s second female justice in 1993. Cuomo, a Democrat, said that he’ll appoint a commission to choose an artist and oversee the selection of a location for the statue. Nearly two dozen schools in metro Detroit were closed on Thursday due to threats. Detroit Police Chief James Craig said since the Florida school shooting on Feb. 14, DPD received a total of 40 threats, consisting of two bombing threats, 34 shooting threats, and two bombing and shooting threats.At one of the targeted schools, John R. King Academy, class was already in session when the bomb squad arrived at the school on the report of a suspicious package. The kids were dismissed for the day after it was found to be safe.Anyone arrested could potentially face charges of terrorism and making threats online. If convicted, those charges carry a 20-year penalty.Craig said in the last 24 hours, DPD has received 23 threats. Three juveniles and one adult have already been arrested for numerous threats. Craig says more people will be in custody soon."It's going to end," he said.
