(CNN) -- Godspeed!A historic cathedral in England has installed a giant indoor fairground slide, supposedly so that visitors can see its roof up close.The 50-foot-high ride, known in Britain as a helter-skelter, was unveiled on Thursday at Norwich Cathedral in eastern England and will be open to the public to enjoy for 10 days.The church, completed in 1145, insists the initiative is no gimmick -- in fact, a clergyman says the idea came to him while he was visiting the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican."I had the slightly risky thought of, 'I know this is amazing, but actually the ceiling at Norwich Cathedral is every bit as wonderful,'" Reverend Canon Andy Bryant told the Press Association news agency."We have one of the greatest collections of medieval roof bosses anywhere in northern Europe. (KGTV) — An Amber Alert was issued to counties across California for a 4-year-old girl abducted by her non-custodial mother in Washington.The alert was issued for a 2005, red Chevy Cobalt with Washington state license plate "BLK 1552" just after 1 p.m. by California Highway Patrol on behalf of the Vancouver Police Department.Vancouver Police say Aranza Maria Ochoa Lopez, 4, was taken on Oct. 25, by her mother, 21-year-old Esmeralda Lynn Lopez. Authorities believe the mother may be intending to head to Mexico.Esmeralda Lopez is described as a Hispanic female, standing 5-feet tall, and weighing about 138 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. Aranza is described as a Hispanic female, with blond hair and blue eyes.The alert was sent to the following California counties: Marin, Napa, Contra Costa, San Joaquin, Alameda, Santa Clara, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Benito, Merced, Fresno, Kings, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura, Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, Riverside, Stanislaus, Merced, Madera, and Tulare.Anyone with information of the pair's whereabouts is asked to call 911.10News is monitoring this breaking news. 1190

(KGTV) -- Bay Area authorities are investigating the shooting death of one security officer and injuries to another after they were gunned down amid fiery protests in Oakland late Friday night.The shooting happened outside the Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse, a few blocks from where thousands of demonstrators where gathered.A statement from the FBI sent to Bay Area media said that at about 9:45 p.m., a vehicle approached the federal building and a gunman inside the car fired at the officers. The security officers are contracted by the Federal Protective Service of the Department of Homeland Security.The Mercury News reported that the Oakland Police Department said the shooting “is unrelated to tonight’s demonstration.”It’s unknown if police have any suspects in custody.FBI San Francisco and Oakland Police Department continue to investigate the shooting, KRON news reported.The incident happened as large groups of demonstrators clashed with police in downtown Oakland to protest the death of George Floyd. Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, died after Derek Chauvin, a Minneapolis police officer, knelt on his neck until he passed out.ABC 7 News in San Francisco is reporting that 60 suspected looters were detained for further investigation and 18 people were arrested by Oakland police.
