Forget the shirt and shoes; no service for people on horseback at Starbucks in Anthem, Arizona. A Valley girl is frustrated after trying to ride her horse through the drive-thru when the barista said nay. Aspen Cline had seen internet videos of others riding their horses through the Starbucks drive-thru and decided that's what she wanted to do for her birthday. Instead, she and her horse, Scout, were shut down by the barista who apparently wasn't into horsing around. "We weren't given a reason, just, "we can't take your order," said Aspen. "My friend and I were going to get frappuccinos for us and a cup of whipped cream for the horses." A Starbucks spokesperson told us, officially, their drive-through is for cars only. He said that policy is for animal, rider and employee safety. But, he also added that the horses caught the barista off guard and with a little-advanced notice next time they'll find a way to serve all creatures."We support Starbucks because they're very accepting," said Tandy Cline, Aspen's mom. Fred Meyer stores will phase out all sales of guns and ammunition, according to parent company, Kroger."Fred Meyer has made a business decision to exit the firearms category," Kroger spokesperson Kristal Howard said in an emailed statement on Monday.The company said it made the decision last week "after evaluating changing customer preferences" and also "softening consumer demand" for guns for the last several years.Annual gun sales at Fred Meyer are million and "continue to decline," according to the company."More recently Fred Meyer has been transitioning away from gun departments as a result of the ongoing work to optimize space in Fred Meyer stores," the company said.The news comes after Kroger announced last week that the grocer will stop selling magazines featuring "assault rifles."Earlier this month, Kroger said its Fred Meyer stores would stop selling guns to anyone under 21, even though the law permits the sale of rifles to anyone 18 or older. FORT MYERS, Fla. - The headmaster of Evangelical Christian School sent an email saying a teacher was fired after admitting sexual misconduct with a student. The email said a female upper school teacher has had her position terminated, effective immediately. Deputies arrested 35-year-old Suzanne Owens, charging her with custodial sexual battery, the Lee County Sheriff's Office said.
