Singer and actress Janelle Monae confirmed her sexual orientation for the first time in a new interview."Being a black queer woman in America ... someone who has been in relationships with both men and women -- I consider myself to be a free-** m******f***er," she said in a Rolling Stone cover story published online Thursday.Monae, a six-time Grammy nominee who has also starred in films such as "Moonlight" and "Hidden Figures," says she's still learning about her sexuality."But then later I read about pansexuality and I was like, 'Oh, these are things that I identify with too.' (KGTV) - The City Council in Solana Beach wants to make it illegal to sell any kind of flavored tobacco within the city."What we're doing right now is a reaction to what is literally an epidemic," says Councilmember David Zito.He says the Council has seen the numbers from the CDC and other health agencies showing a rise in underage smoking, mostly related to the increase in e-cigarettes. That's why they're taking such a drastic step."This is not a safe thing to do and we need to take these kind of precautions," says Zito.Under the proposed ban, stores in Solana Beach wouldn't be allowed to sell any kind of flavored tobacco. That means menthol cigars, flavored hookah tobacco, flavored cigars, e-cigarettes or anything else that has a "distinguishable tast or aroma or both, other than the taste or aroma of tobacco, imparted by a Tobacco Product or any byproduct produced by the Tobacco Product."Right now, the ban would only affect a small handful of stores in the city. The two gas stations within Solana Beach already limit their sales of flavored products to just menthol. There are a few other convenience stores that sell e-cigarettes and other flavored products. The 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which is based in Atlanta, vacated a previous panel's 2-1 decision rejecting an effort to undo an agreement federal prosecutors made with Epstein more than a decade ago. According to a report from the Miami Herald, it was revealed that former Labor Secretary Alex Acosta, who resigned from his post last July, cut a deal with Epstein that kept him out of prison when he was a federal prosecutor for the Southern District of Florida.Instead of facing federal charges, Epstein was allowed to plead guilty to lesser state crimes and served a short jail sentence. Some victims have long claimed the Miami U.S. attorney's office violated their rights by not informing them of the plea deal.Epstein was found dead in his New York prison cell last August. 1024

SIGNAL HILL (CNS) - A single-engine airplane made a safe landing on a street near Long Beach Airport today, with no injuries reported.The airplane, which had just taken off from the airport, set down about 10:15 a.m. in the 2700 block of Orange Avenue, said airport spokeswoman Cassie Chauvel.The Long Beach Fire Department said in a Twitter posting that the plane ``lost power shortly after performing a touch and go off runway 26L.''The pilot was unhurt, and there was no damage to the plane, according to the LBFD.The Federal Aviation Administration reported that the pilot was the lone occupant of the Piper PA28. 625
