LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating 56 allegations of misconduct during protests against police brutality in the wake of George Floyd’s death. The LAPD says Wednesday that of the 56 investigations, 28 involve alleged uses of force. While most protests have been peaceful, there were violent clashes with police and businesses were vandalized. Floyd, a black man, died on May 25 after a white Minneapolis police officer pressed his knee on Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes while he was handcuffed and lying on the ground.
