During an appearance on ABC News Friday morning, Health and Human Services Director Alex Azar said that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) would grant Emergency Use Authorization to Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine.Azar added that while the process for Emergency Use Authorization has not been finalized, he expects Americans to receive initial doses of the vaccine by "Monday or Tuesday of next week."Azar's comments come a day after an FDA panel voted to recommend that the Pfizer vaccine be given Emergency Use Authorization. EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) -- A woman was arrested Wednesday morning after police in El Cajon say she reportedly stabbed her grandmother. The department received a 911 call around 10:18 a.m. from a woman who said her grandmother was stabbed during a burglary on the 1200 block of North Mollison Avenue. After officers arrived, they found the woman who appeared to have been stabbed several times. The woman was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. After investigating the stabbing, police determined that the woman’s adult granddaughter, Elektra Del Sol, 19, was responsible for the crime. She was arrested and booked into jail. Earlier this week, both the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration investigate an outbreak of salmonella infections across multiple states, possibly linked to imported wood ear mushrooms.The agencies said consumers should be on notice when ordering food with mushrooms because the dry mushrooms, which were likely imported by Wismettac Asian Foods, Inc. of Santa Fe Springs, California, could cause salmonella infections.The agencies say the dry mushrooms were shipped to restaurants in 31 states and Washington, D.C."Consumers can ask restaurants where mushrooms are from before ordering to avoid eating recalled mushrooms," the FDA said.The CDC says 41 reported cases of the salmonella infection in 10 states, and four people have been hospitalized.On its website, Wismettac Asian Foods said they voluntarily recall the 5-pound bags of dried fungus imported from China. 920

Dozens of trucks and thousands of volunteers delivered more than 260,000 Christmas wreaths to Arlington National Cemetery to honor fallen heroes.The rain Saturday didn't stop the day of service, which was made possible by the Wreaths Across America organization.  "If you look across this field of stones, it's massive, but we want to make sure that every individual receives a wreath and their name is spoken out loud,” says Karen Worcester, executive director of Wreaths Across America.Larry Landon, a Boy Scout troop leader, donated his time, unboxing and placing wreaths with 14 of his Boy Scouts.“Our troop unloaded trucks,” he says. “Over 36,000 wreaths were laid here at Arlington, with the help of these boys.”It’s a tradition in its 27th year, spanning all 50 states and into 26 countries.
