Yale University will no longer formally call first-year students "freshmen" as the university is officially changing its terminology to be gender-neutral. So instead of being considered an "upperclassman," a student with multiple years of collegiate experience will be officially considered an "upper-level" student. According to Yale's student newspaper, administrators are not expecting students, faculty and staff to change how they refer to freshmen or upperclassmen. (AP) — Authorities say two crop-dusting planes have crashed in midair over a Northern California rice field, killing both pilots.The Sutter County Sheriff's Office says the single-engine Grumman Ag Cats were seeding the field at the time of Wednesday's collision.The pilots died at the scene north of Sacramento. They're identified as 63-year-old Brian VanDyke of Rio Oso and 59-year-old Burton Haughey of Wheatland.Authorities say Haughey was found inside his aircraft and VanDyke was found on the ground outside his wrecked plane.There's no immediate word on what caused the crash but the Federal Aviation Administration will investigate. 666

(AP) — A California man whose suicide attempt left his face disfigured had successful facial transplant surgery 18 months later, and the lead surgeon estimates his face should be "pristine" in as little as three years.Cameron Underwood, 26, of Yuba City, had the 25-hour operation that involved more than 100 medical staff in January. Less than a year later, Underwood can speak intelligibly. He is golfing and has even gone skydiving, The Sacramento Bee reported Friday.Underwood appeared Thursday at a news conference at New York City's NYU Langone Health center, where he smiled and thanked medical staffers and his family for giving him a second chance at life."There have been so many amazing advances in surgery. I'm living proof of that.
