KOKOMO, Ind. -- Malachi's Magnificent Lemonade opened Friday and Saturday to raise money for the family of Jacob Pickett, and Indiana sheriff's deputy who was killed in the line of duty earlier this month.Pickett was laid to rest on Friday. He was fatally wounded while assisting with a pursuit and foot chase on March 2.All of the lemonade stand's proceeds will go to Pickett's family. JAMUL, Calif. (KGTV) - A Jamul man is cleaning up and unsure about how to start over, two weeks after the Valley Fire destroyed his home."Numb is a good word. I've cried, too," said Chuck Stevens, 62.The numbness started on Sept. 5. As the Valley fire approached his home on Northwood Drive early in the evening, Stevens, who was driving home from a baby shower, was turned away by authorities, miles from his home."I saw major flames a quarter-mile from my house ... felt helpless, just helpless," said Stevens.He returned two days later and saw the devastation. His double-wide trailer, his home for the last 15 years, was gone, and so was his truck, car, and two motorhomes."Devastation, everything burned to the ground,' said Stevens.His vehicles were only insured for liability. He didn't have wildfire insurance for his home."They would not give it to me because of the age of the mobile home," said Stevens.Stevens says his most painful loss is the hundreds of photos of his late love, his girlfriend Marilyn Norman, who died of a heart attack two years ago. They were together for more than a decade."Just devastated. I can never look at these photos again ... After years go by, you lose some memories if you don't look at the photos. That's what I really miss," said Stevens.Sadly, family members say they have yet to find any photos of the couple anywhere. Joel Arrona was heading to a San Bernardino, California, hospital with his pregnant wife for a planned cesarean section when Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers detained him, forcing his pregnant wife to complete the journey and deliver the baby without him.Arrona, 35, is "a citizen of Mexico illegally residing in the United States" and has an outstanding warrant for homicide charges in Mexico, ICE said in a statement.His wife, Maria del Carmen Venegas, 32, says the charges are "a misunderstanding" in Mexico.His detention took place Wednesday, when Arrona was driving to the 10 a.m. appointment and decided to stop for gas. Jeopardy! announced that Alex Trebek’s final episode as the game show’s host will air on Christmas.Trebek died on Sunday at the age of 80 following a battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.In March 2019, Trebek announced he had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He immediately started treatment, but made no plans to retire. In fact, he kept hosting and taping new episodes.Trebek taped his final episode of Jeopardy on October 29. When new episodes resumed filming during the summer, and given Trebek’s health status, some minor changes were made in the studio. Trebek was Jeopardy’s second host after Art Flemming hosted the original version of Jeopardy.Prior to the onset of the pandemic, Trebek took Jeopardy to primetime in January, inviting back three of the game show’s most successful players for a “Greatest of All Time” series.
