MARIPOSA COUNTY, Calif. (KGTV) -- A fire burning around Yosemite National Park has been fully contained, according to KGO.The Ferguson Fire burned nearly 97,000 acres and destroyed 10 structures. Fire crews are now in the mop-up and repair phase.The fire spread throughout Mariposa County for more than a month from July 13 through August 19. MANHATTAN, N.Y. — Police took an alleged attempted rapist into custody Sunday after a Saturday morning assault inside a Manhattan subway station, authorities said.The woman, who was headed home from work, was followed off the train and onto the Q train platform at the Lexington Avenue–63rd Street station around 11 a.m. Saturday, NYPD Chief of Detectives Rodney Harrison said. Jose Reyes allegedly pushed the 25-year-old woman to the ground and tried to rape her."It's a heinous act," Harrison said. "It's horrible." Bystanders on the platform rushed over to intervene, and Reyes alllegedly stopped the attack, according to police.A witness took cellphone video of the suspect before he fled the station.The victim suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention at the scene, police said.Reyes had been spotted smoking hookah before the alleged attack, Harrison said. He allegedly had several narcotics in his possession. Mary Kay Letourneau, a former teacher who was sentenced for an illicit relationship with a then sixth-grade student, has died at the age of 58, her attorney told NBC News.Her lawyer David Gehrke told news outlets Letourneau died Tuesday of cancer.Letourneau was charged with rape of a child after Letourneau became pregnant following a sexual relationship with student Vili Fualaau. The relationship began in 1996 when Letourneau was 34 and Fualaau was 12 or 13.When Fualaau was 18, he petitioned the court to lift a no-contact order between Letourneau and Fualaau.
