Several Democratic politicians, including Kenosha's mayor and Wisconsin's governor, have asked Trump to reconsider, saying his presence could stoke more violence in the city.Blake was shot during an altercation with police on Aug. 23. Police say they were responding to a call about a man at a party who "shouldn't have been there."Police attempted to take Blake into custody but say he was non-compliant. Officers say they tried to use stun guns on Blake but could still not take him into custody.Blake had previously told officers he had a knife in his vehicle. At one point during the altercation, as Blake approached his car, Officer Rusten Sheskey shot Blake in the back at least seven times. A knife was later found on the floorboard of the car.Blake is still hospitalized and is paralyzed from the waist down. Jernigan, director of the influenza division of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, told the New York Times. “I don’t think we can definitively say there will be no twindemic; I’ve been working with flu for a long time, and I’ve been burned. But flu is atypically low.”However, they caution that flu activity may increase in the coming months. Flu season typically peaks at the beginning of the year, depending on the region.The CDC’s map showing state-by-state flu activity shows the majority of the country with “minimal” rates of flu activity, with Oklahoma at a low “moderate” level. The Dallas Police Department said on Tuesday evening that two of its officers and a civilian loss prevention officer were shot at a Dallas Home Depot. The Dallas Police confirmed earlier in the evening that the two officer were in critical condition. Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall said late Tuesday evening that all three victims are out of surgery in a Dallas hospital. "We're asking for your continued prayers for them and their families," Hall said. The shooting reportedly took place around 4:11 p.m. local time.  In a press conference, police identified Armando Juarez, 29, as a person of interest. He is believed to have left the incident driving a white pickup truck. Around 9 p.m. local time, Juarez was arrested after a car pursuit involving Dallas Police and a white pickup truck.Hall said that Juarez will be charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, and also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The Florida Panthers have hired Brett Peterson as an assistant general manager, making him the first Black executive to hold that position in the NHL. "I'm very excited for this opportunity with the Panthers and with Bill's growing front office team," said Peterson in a press release. "It's a special day for myself and my family and I can't wait to get to work."Peterson's hiring comes days after the nearby Miami Marlins hired Kim Ng as the first female GM in Major League Baseball. The NHL has been working to increase minority participation in front offices and on coaching staffs. Peterson has a background as a player agent just like GM Bill Zito and fellow assistant Paul Krepelka. The 39-year-old was previously vice president of hockey for Wasserman Media Group and has been an NHLPA certified agent since 2009.Peterson also played professional hockey and made it up as far as the American Hockey League level.
