China is upgrading its manufacturing sector to improve competitiveness and create new growth momentum.
China will become the world's biggest luxury goods market by 2025, with Chinese consumers set to account for nearly half of the global spending in the sector in the same period, a new report said.

China plans to spend at least 2.7 trillion yuan on transportation infrastructure projects in 2020, including 800 billion yuan on railways, 1.8 trillion yuan on roads and waterways and 90 billion yuan on civil aviation facilities, according to the ministry.
China launched the "toilet revolution" in 2015 and has since built or renovated nearly 60,000 toilets. The Plan for Rural Revitalization (2018-22), issued by the central government in September, aims to achieve an 85 percent prevalence of clean toilets in rural areas by 2020.
China strives to upgrade its labor-intensive manufacturing sector through technological innovation as it faces a shrinking working-age population and increasing labor costs.
