Gunshots rang out at a birthday party on Detroit's east side injuring multiple people.Police said at least three people were shot at during the party, and a fourth victim was hit down the street.Investigators say it happened around 11:20 p.m. Sunday at a home.Police say the victims are a 27-year-old woman shot in the face, a 32-year-old woman shot in the leg and a 40-year-old man shot also shot in the leg.  All three told police they were at a birthday party when two men started shooting.The fourth victim, a 31-year-old man down the street, says he was walking when two men walked up to him and shot him in the backside and ran away.That man says he hopped on one leg to his home where he called police.Police do not have a description of the suspects, they only know they are looking for two armed men.All of the victims are listed in temporary serious condition at Detroit Receiving Hospital.  924

HAYWARD, California (AP) — Robots that can flip burgers, make salads, and even bake bread are in growing demand as virus-wary kitchens try to put some distance between workers and customers. Starting this fall, the White Castle burger chain will test a robot arm that can cook french fries, corn dogs. The robot, dubbed Flippy, is made by Pasadena, California-based Miso Robotics. In June, Flippy began working full-day shifts - 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at CaliBurger in Pasadena.“We have demonstrated that Flippy can work on our standard equipment and meet high volume demand with substantially greater cooking consistency than our kitchens that have not yet installed Flippy,” said Tony Lomelino, Chief Technology Officer of CaliBurger in a press release. “Additionally, we have developed a program to retrain our restaurant staff to serve as ‘Chef Techs’ that work alongside Flippy and monitor the related software and hardware systems. We expect these skills will be useful for employees across our chain to secure higher income jobs that require human/robotic interaction in the future restaurant industry and other industries.”Robot food service was a trend even before the coronavirus pandemic struck. GREELEY, Colorado – Weld County’s top prosecutors and Frederick police held a news conference Monday afternoon to brief the media on more details of the Chris Watts case after he was sentenced earlier in the day to several life terms in prison without the possibility of parole in the deaths of his pregnant wife and young daughters.Flanked by fellow prosecutors, Frederick Police Department representatives and the county coroner, 19th Judicial District Attorney Michael Rourke started the news conference by thanking the law enforcement agencies involved in the case as well as the family of Shanann Watts for “serving justice” in her name and those of her two daughters and unborn child.Much of what Rourke and his deputy district attorney, Steve Wrenn, discussed at the news conference centered on new details that had not been released about the case, the autopsy reports for the three which were released after the news conference, and what will happen next for Chris Watts as he makes his way to prison for the rest of his life.Rourke said that he doesn’t believe Watts will ever truthfully answer as to why he killed his family though his parents pleaded with him during sentencing Monday to come clean and atone in the future.He said that Watts’ attorneys approached prosecutors first about the plea deal and that he did not accept until after speaking with Shanann’s family, the Rzuceks, in North Carolina beforehand. The Rzuceks addressed Watts and the case in court Monday.“That was a conversation I was only going to have with them face to face,” Rourke said.He reiterated that he and the family had talked about the state of the death penalty in Colorado and its future. GameStop announced this week that an additional 400 to 450 locations would close across the country by the end of 2020.While more video games are available for digital downloads, the next generation PS5 and Xbox will contain disc drives.
