(KGTV) - Firefighters responded to flames burning roughly 31 cars in National City Tuesday.The fire was reported about 12:45 p.m. at 3131 Hoover Ave., northeast of Interstate 5 and SR-54. Flames were burning vehicles on a private lot, the California Highway Patrol reported. MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin — The parents of a 9-year-old Milwaukee girl shot and killed by her brother over the weekend have been criminally charged.Marcel Antonio Jelks, 32, and Talisha Lee, 29 both faces charges. Jelks has been charged with child neglect resulting in death and possession of a firearm by a felon. Lee has been charged with child neglect resulting in death, and furnishing a firearm to a felon.According to Milwaukee Police's preliminary investigation, Miyanna was accidentally shot by her brother — who is a minor — in their home in the 4500 block of North 38th Street just after noon on Saturday. She was brought to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. Police say the brother was been taken to the Milwaukee County Children's Court Center. "She was a beautiful, young girl. She was smart, intelligent. She was just 9 years old," said Jay Jones, a family friend.Jones said seven children live in the house with their mom and dad and he doesn't believe the father knew their was a gun inside the house."They are not the type of people to put their kids in no type of danger or anything like that," he said.If convicted, Lee faces 25 years in prison. Mondelez International, the parent company of Nabisco, has redesigned its packaging of "Barnum's Animals" crackers after being pressured by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.The group called for the redesign by Mondelez because it protests the use of animals in circuses, and the animal crackers boxes showed animals in cages, the Associated Press reports.The crackers were once named for the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey circus, but it folded for good after 146 years. MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — With coronavirus cases still surging in the United States, Google has reportedly pushed back the timeline for when its employees will return to their offices.The New York Times and NBC News both report Google is planning to return to in-person working in September 2021, instead of July.That’s according memo sent to staff Sunday, which also said the company would be testing the idea of a “flexible work week” once workers do return to offices.Under the pilot plan, The Times says employees would be asked to work at least three days in their offices for “collaboration days,” and work the other days at home.The CEO of Google’s parent company Alphabet, Sundar Pichai, wrote in the memo that they want to test the hypothesis that flexible work models lead to greater productivity, collaboration, and well-being.Google isn’t alone in testing these kinds of work schedules. Other tech companies like Microsoft, Facebook, and Twitter have expressed interest or released plans for rolling out similar models.Another aspect of getting people back to work will be COVID-19 vaccines.
