A former Jupiter, Florida police sergeant was fired after an investigation found he performed sex acts while on duty, is now suing the town of Jupiter.Jason VanSteenburgh is suing the town for negligent supervision as well as retaliation and discrimination, after he says he was sexually harassed by then Major Amy Walling.Walling was fired at the same time as VanSteenburgh, for engaging in those sexual acts with the sergeant, while he was on duty.Investigators said videos taken during the acts were part of evidence. In his lawsuit, VanSteenburgh admits he engaged in a sexual relationship with his supervisor, Walling in 2013. But he says "she used her power as major to discipline him for personal matters/disputes and put his position on the SWAT team at issue."VanSteenburgh said he ended his relationship with Walling in 2016 when "she began to stalk him and sexually harass him in the workplace, despite his objections." VanSteenburgh says he was fearful of complaining about her."This fear was confirmed when Chief Kitzerow made a comment to VanSteenburgh that he would 'always back his command staff,'" the lawsuit claims.He says despite his objections, Walling then sent him a half-naked photo of herself in his shirt. She also allegedly "bought a home near his home and an identical vehicle to that of his fiancee."VanSteenburgh said he complained to the chief, deputy chief, human resources and other majors multiple times but was told not to worry. He claims "Walling was told to stay away by command staff," but she didn't.VanSteenburgh then says he was removed from the SWAT team and placed on administrative leave. Eventually, he was fired but claimed Walling was given the chance to fight for her job when he wasn't.Jupiter police investigators found that VanSteenburgh engaged in sexual acts in July 2015, after they said a video produced by Walling confirmed all of this.He was also found to have sent a half-naked photo while on duty and in uniform in 2015.Investigators found Walling engaged in that sexual act in July 2015, and also sent naked photos of herself.Both permanently lost their jobs in 2017.  2197

A former student and three current students have been arrested and charged for their involvement in a prank that sent a student riding a dirt bike down a hallway at GlenOak High School in Canton, Ohio.According to officials at the Stark County Jail, all four were arrested for taking part in the prank that allowed a student to zoom through the hall on a dirt bike. The prank sent the school into a lockdown.The school said the incident has raised security concerns. One person involved, Eloy Lopes, 18, isn't a student at the school anymore."Our staff at GlenOak acted swiftly in addressing the immediate safety concerns as a result of the prank," a school representative school said in an email.Lopes was criminally charged with inducing panic with a reckless disregard for others, according to the sheriff. The sheriff's report said he was charged with criminal trespassing because he is not a current student at GlenOak. According to authorities, he held a door open for the dirt bike rider. The three students involved, a 17-year-old male and two 18-year-old males, were also arrested and charged with inducing panic with a reckless disregard for others for their involvement in the prank, according to authorities.The school has not addressed the status of the three current students, nor has it said whether or not security policies will change moving forward. 1515

A FEMA report obtained by ABC News said that 34 White House staffers and contacts were infected with the coronavirus.According to ABC News, some of those infected were not identified in the report, but a number of those infected have publicly confirmed positive tests in recent days, including President Donald Trump.According to PBS, which identified 33 of the 34 confirmed cases, 11 of the coronavirus cases stemmed from workers of last week’s presidential debate in Cleveland. A law class at Georgia State University will focus on the life and career of "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kandi Burruss this upcoming semester.In a press release, the university said the singer, songwriter, actress, and entrepreneur will be the subject of Professor Mo Ivory's course of Entertainment, Sports, and Media Law Initiative, which prepares students for Georgia’s growing entertainment industry.“I chose Kandi because she has an amazing career, which spans every aspect of the entertainment industry from music, television, and live performance to licensing, apparel, and more,” Ivory said in the news release. “I wanted to study a woman this time around, and having worked with Kandi in the past, I knew she was the perfect choice. She handles her business and it shows with her success, but all the while she’s completely approachable and willing to share her lessons learned. A Land O' Lakes, Florida man who was just released from prison was arrested for attempted vehicle theft again before he even left the jail parking lot.Klaid Karpuzi, 41, was arrested when deputies say he tried to steal a truck with a teen in the backseat just three days earlier.As Karpuzi was walking through the jail parking lot following his release, he reportedly tried to get into a vehicle by walking around it, then pulling on the passenger door handle.Inside the vehicle was an off-duty deputy who happened to be at the jail to take a class.When Karpuzi pulled on the handle, Deputy Brunner stepped out of the vehicle, where she and another deputy detained him.Karpuzi told the deputies he saw a vehicle with the engine running and did not realize anyone was in it.He was arrested for attempted auto theft and returned to the jail.
