(AP) — Defense contractor Northrop Grumman will be moving secret cargo through a Southern California marina this weekend.The Daily Breeze reports part of King Harbor Marina in Redondo Beach will be shut down from 5 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m. Sunday for the move of what is described as a U.S. Navy demonstration project.The large object will be taken from a Northrop Grumman facility in Redondo Beach to a barge for shipment to San Diego.The newspaper says that during a Redondo Beach City Council meeting this week, Northrop Grumman officials cited national security concerns in declining to provide information about the object.The company agreed on Oct. 15 to pay the city ,000 for a licensing agreement to use the marina and for any costs the city incurs. 787

President Donald Trump tweeted a photo on Wednesday of rockets that were aimed at the US Embassy in Baghdad, and claimed that the rockets were fired by Iran.The attack came on Sunday, embassy officials confirmed. Trump said that three of the rockets failed to launch.The embassy said that there was minor damage to the compound, but no injuries. The US embassy said there were reports of damage and injuries in residential communities near the embassy.“These sorts of attacks on diplomatic facilities are a violation of international law and are a direct assault on the sovereignty of the Iraqi government,” the US Embassy in Baghdad tweeted.“Some friendly health advice to Iran: If one American is killed, I will hold Iran responsible. Think it over,” Trump said on Wednesday.Tensions rose earlier this year between Iran and the US after Iranian General Qasem Soleimani was killed after a US attack on the influential Iranian military leader. RANCHO SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The boyfriend of a missing woman refused to take a polygraph test Monday - on the same day Arizona police arrested him for identity theft and forgery. Kiera Bergman was living in Phoenix when she went missing two weeks ago, but the 19-year-old grew up in San Diego. Monday night her father agreed to speak with 10News Anchor Ariel Wesler about the desperate search for Bergman. Bergman graduated from Valhalla High School in 2017. After her disappearance, family and friends launched the #bringKIERAhome campaign - passing out flyers and stickers to keep hope alive.  617

RAMONA (KGTV)- Myrtle the coyote is recovering at The Fund for the Animals Wildlife Center in Ramona, after the Rancho Bernardo neighborhood came together to help.Katie Ryan has been watching Myrtle the coyote for years, and sounded the alarm when she first saw the new mother ensnared in a pipe. Katie guessed Myrtle was trying to capture a small animal that hid in the pipe and she got stuck. It took five weeks of constant phone calls, prayers and sleepless nights looking after Myrtle before she could get a trapper to catch the elusive coyote."I can't even describe I was crying and laughing all at the same time," Ryan said, her smile wide. She enlisted neighbors to block off the area, after a failed attempt Monday night due to a man trying to approach Myrtle and scaring her off.Neighbors said they guarded the neighborhood for hours Tuesday evening, going home with no hope. Then, a few minutes later, Myrtle followed a trail of rotisserie chicken and was caught in a trap around 8:30p.m.The Fund for the Animals Wildlife Center picked up the coyote that night and sent this statement. 1118

Rep. Louise M. Slaughter, the first female chair of the House Rules Committee and one of the longest-serving Democrats in Congress, died Friday at age 88, her office announced.The dean of the New York congressional delegation had fallen near her D.C. home last week, suffered an injury, and had been hospitalized at George Washington University Hospital.A major fixture in Democratic politics, she was serving her 16th term in Congress.House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi said Friday in a statement that she was "heartbroken by the passing of the congresswoman.""In her lifetime of public service and unwavering commitment to working families, Congresswoman Slaughter embodied the very best of the American spirit and ideals.
