SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Monday night's Demi Lovato concert gave San Diego — and Parkland, Fla. — fans a night to remember.Kicking off her "Tell Me You Love Me" world tour, Lovato brought six Parkland shooting survivors on stage before a packed Viejas Arena."Tonight I brought along some people who are incredibly courageous and inspiring and brave. On February 14, one of the worst mass shootings in American history took place," Lovato said?on stage. "These students were in the school that day. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are searching for a homeless man a Mission Valley father says tried dragging his daughter into bushes before she was able to escape.Chris Gilbert says his 11-year-old daughter went to check the mail Saturday around 2 p.m. on the 5900 block of Caminito Deporte when the incident happened.After walking across the street to check the mail, Gilbert says his daughter felt hands on her shoulders.RELATED: San Diego Homelessness Czar to go on leave to open Mormon temple"She thought it was me, sneaking up playing a game,” Gilbert said.Then, Gilbert says, the man grabbed the 11-year-old by the neck and started dragging her toward some bushes.“She told me he put his hands on her shoulders from behind and was holding her, turned around and kicked him in the shin, got loose and ran into the house and found me upstairs.”That’s when Gilbert ran downstairs to confront the homeless man, hitting him in the shoulder as a warning.RELATED: Oceanside residents demand solution to homelessness issue“I said, ‘you need to get out of here,’ then he started hitting me.”Gilbert’s daughter describes the man as six foot, two inches tall, between the ages of 40 to 45 with thick glasses. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police are investigating the death of a child at a Tierrasanta home Tuesday.San Diego Police responded to the 3100 Block of Minuteman St. just before 11 a.m. to reports of a four-month-old child not breathing. When paramedics arrived, they began CPR on the infant.First responders were not able to revive the child.Police do not suspect the death to be criminal in nature at this point. However, police said since they are still not sure what led to the baby's death, they are investigating.The child died in a home in a military housing neighborhood.  624

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One person is dead and police are searching for a suspect Saturday after a shooting in the Chollas Creek neighborhood.San Diego Police said the shooting occurred at about 2:30 p.m. in the 5200 block of University Ave. A 26-year-old Hispanic man was in an argument with a suspect at the interaction of 52nd St. and University Ave., according to witnesses, where the altercation continued toward the 4000 block of 52nd St.At that point, the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim, police said.The man was taken to a nearby hospital where he died of his injuries.The suspect fled, heading west on University Ave.No suspect description was available.Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call SDPD 619-531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at 88-580-8477. 787

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - President Donald Trump started a five-day treatment of Remdesivir Friday, according to Navy Commander Dr. Sean Conley.Gilead Sciences is a California-based company, with offices in Oceanside, making the experimental drug Remdesivir. That drug saved San Diegan Troy Kahle's life and has saved others."I did survive and I did have the five-day treatment," Kahle said. "I feel like I'm back 85% which is fantastic," said Kahle.The drug does help patients in certain circumstances, according to doctors.Dr. Christian Ramers, Chief of Population Health at Family Health Centers San Diego, said Remdesivir slows down the production of the virus. He said new information created by a supercharged immune system.He said the virus triggers the immune system to respond with force, creating damaging inflammation. Ramers said that's why the president and other patients are taking a cocktail of medications to battle the viral spread and inflammation. That inflammation leaves scarring in the lungs and lasting effects."If I over exert myself I have an asthma attack, with the wheezing and I've never had asthma before," Kahle said.He hopes by sharing his story to prevent at least one person from suffering the way he has."Please take it seriously, wear a mask, socially distance wash your hands use hand sanitizer.
