Deputies arrested a Polk City, Florida woman for DUI on a horse in Lakeland on Thursday. Donna Byrne, 53, was riding the horse in the roadway when deputies arrived on scene. Deputies said Byrne smelled like alcohol, had watery bloodshot eyes and was staggering. A field sobriety test was conducted and she was arrested for DUI. Byrne was also charged with animal neglect for failing to provide proper protection to the horse. According to the affidavit, Byrne put the horse in jeopardy of being injured or killed.Byrne blew a .157 and .161 BAC. A breath alcohol level of .08 is the legal limit in Florida. 633

DEL MAR (CNS) - Horse racing at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club has been canceled Thanksgiving Day due to stormy weather forecasts, racing officials announced Sunday. ``With inclement weather predicted to bring substantial rain on Wednesday and Thursday of the coming week, Del Mar Thoroughbred Club proactively canceled its scheduled Thanksgiving Day race card as part of its continuing emphasis on horse and rider safety,'' the club said on Twitter Sunday. Several of the races from Thursday's program, including the 0,000 Grade III Red Carpet Stakes, will be shifted to expanded race cards Saturday and next Sunday. (KGTV) - Reports of a positive COVID-19 test at an East County Catholic church are raising concerns about possible exposure.The church is Our Lady of Light Catholic Church in Descanso. On a Facebook post, a board member of the Descanso Town Hall reported a positive case was just revealed to the church pastor by a parishioner. In a statement, a spokesperson for the Catholic Diocese of San Diego says the parishioner is a volunteer who helps prepare the altar for services. She wore a mask and maintained social distance.According to the post, "the person who tested positive was actively involved in all mass and church activities while having symptoms for a week so exposure is possible."The woman remains ill and is now in quarantine at home.The post goes on to explain that exposure was possible for anyone who went to mass in the past two weeks, which includes some 16 different services.It's unclear how many people that totals, but one parishioner tells ABC 10News pre-pandemic attendance for bigger masses numbered in the dozens.The apparent positive test comes amid coronavirus shutdown orders banning indoor church services in the county.The Diocese says the pastor, Father Enrique Fuentes, received a coronavirus test. Any outdoor masses won't take place until the result is known.According to the Diocese, the county has not yet contacted the church about the positive case, but the pastor decided to go ahead and close the church for deep cleaning and inform other volunteers she was in contact with. 1539

DETROIT — Tyesha Dukes says her baby boy, Julies, was born in December 2017 but lost him hours later. She says she trusted Perry Funeral Home to bury her son, but never received a death certificate stating where he had been buried.Dukes says once news hit of 11 fetuses being found inside the ceiling of Cantrell Funeral Home, she got worried and called Perry Funeral Home. She placed the call Thursday, the day before the police raid occurred that turned up 63 infant remains and fetuses improperly stored inside the funeral home. “I had called just to see," Dukes said. "If it’s baby bodies at this funeral home, let me call and see if my baby, you know, (is) buried or not." She says that she was assured her baby was buried at Gethsemane Cemetery off of Gratiot in Detroit, but now she is not so sure. “This funeral home is under investigation." Dukes said.
