On Aug. 26, 2017, 15-year-old Damon Grimes was involved in a police pursuit while driving an ATV in Detroit. That pursuit ended in a crash that claimed Grimes’ life.Reporters at Scripps station WXYZ in Detroit requested video from the crash under the Freedom of Information Act, and received 25 hours worth of video from police body cameras and dash cameras, surveillance video and cell phone video shot by witnesses that tell the story of the senseless death.Officials did not provide footage from the dash cam of the pursuit by Michigan State Troopers, Mark Bessner and Ethan Berger.At 5:31 p.m., video shows Damon Grimes riding his ATV down Rossini Avenue and Gratiot in Detroit. At that time, Trooper Mark Bessner requested priority to chase an ATV.“He flipped. Flipped!” Detroit Police Officer Williams said, video shows.“Yup, tell them there’s an accident,” said DPD Officer Boersman, who was first on the scene.Grimes had hit a parked Ford F-150 with his ATV and he flew off the four-wheeler.“0-9, he’s slowed down, we tased him and he crashed out. (KGTV) –Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating a man suspected in a string of incidents in Oceanside, including indecent exposure, peeping, and sexual assault.“He comes up and knocks on people’s doors, usually between the hours of 8 in the evening and 11, and exposes himself,” said Tom Bussey, public information officer for the Oceanside Police Department.“He has quite a few tattoos on the upper left arm and across his chest. On Veterans Day, the National Museum of the American Indian, part of the Smithsonian museums in D.C., unveiled the new National Native American Veterans Memorial.This new memorial stands on the grounds of the National Museum of the American Indian on the National Mall.It features a stainless steel circle balanced on a carved stone drum. There are benches for gathering and remembering, and four lances where veterans, family members, tribal leaders, and others can tie cloths for prayer and remembrance.It does not include veterans’ names or tribal identification; many veterans asked during the design consultation process said they did not wish to have them added, as the memorial is timeless and is dedicated to all Native veterans, past, present and future. 771

Ohio State University found itself mired in another scandal when the school placed its revered head football coach Urban Meyer on paid leave this week after a longtime assistant coach was fired amid spousal abuse allegations.The school is investigating what Meyer knew about the alleged abuse by former wide receivers coach Zach Smith, who was terminated on July 23, days after he was served with a protection order involving his ex-wife, Courtney Smith.She told the Stadium sports network that her ex-husband had abused her, starting in 2009.
