We learned to kind of share respect to others no matter what, and I mean my teamwork just definitely got a lot better,” said 14-year-old James Goodwin, junior lifeguard of the year.Five hundred children ages 9 through 7 participated in the events."We are stressing sportsmanship and teamwork; we're stressing participation, having fun, trying your best. DEL MAR, Calif. (KGTV) - A local woman says that a man posed as a Del Mar plastic surgeon and groped her for several minutes during a consultation exam. Team 10 investigative reporter Jennifer Kastner verified that he is the manager of a cosmetic surgery center, but he is not a licensed medical provider. He denies any wrongdoing.“All I can remember is being in the car and just bawling, just crying,” she tells us. She claims that the crime against her was deeply personal, so we’re not revealing her identity.She says her tears came just minutes after she says she left Del Mar Cosmetic Contouring Surgery. It’s a private business located in a medical office building off of El Camino Real.“He pinched my nipples. He grabbed the side of my chest. He lifted [my breasts] up with both hands,” she tells 10News. She’s talking about Dario Moscoso, who operates the cosmetic surgery business that specializes in fat contouring. “She’s a liar. She’s trying to extort money,” says Moscoso. “Do you touch patients?” we ask him. He replies, “No. I do not touch patients.”She says she visited the office for a full body contouring consultation, when Moscoso allegedly took her to an exam room, alone, had her disrobe, and grabbed her all over without gloves on. She tells us that he had her pull her pants down, too.“Did you think Mr. Moscoso was a plastic surgeon?” we ask. “Yes. He wore a white coat…he had a clip board. He had paperwork that I was signing,” she responds.“Have you ever represented yourself as a plastic surgeon?” we ask him. “No,” he replies.We also ask, “[Do you make] it very clear with each patient coming in that you are not a licensed medical provider?” “Absolutely,” he tells us. “If they try to disrobe, I do not allow it. [I] absolutely do not allow it,” he adds.His Instagram account shows “Plastic Surgeon” under his name.“That is a category,” he explains. He tells us that it represents the industry that he works in, not his profession. The woman who’s accusing him of groping her tells us that the consultation made her extremely uncomfortable, but she was desperate to change her body. So, she put down a deposit, left the office, and called back at a later date.“I was na?ve,” she says.When she later called back, she says she learned that a Doctor Gerald Schneider would be doing the procedure. Schneider is on probation with the Medical Board of California for sexual misconduct with another patient. He is still allowed to practice with Moscoso as a third-party chaperone. Moscoso says that he and Dr. Schneider always follow that rule.Schneider would not do an interview with 10News.He, Moscoso and their cosmetic procedure businesses are now being sued for what the alleged victim says happened to her.“[It’s] an absolute lie. It never [happened]. In all the years that I've been doing this, I have never had that happen before,” Moscoso adds.The alleged victim doesn't buy it. She thinks that other patients have been assaulted, too. “Come forward. Come forward, because he needs to be stopped,” she adds. (KGTV) — The Del Mar Fairgrounds may face increased pressure to stop the Crossroads of the West gun show from selling so-called 'ghost gun' kits at its show starting later this month.The Del Mar City Council on Monday will consider passing a resolution recommending the Del Mar Fairgrounds ask the show to prohibit its vendors from selling unregulated firearm parts, components and gun-build kids. The items do not have serial numbers and can be purchased at the show without a background check or registration.The Crossroads of the West Gun Show, which begins March 14, is likely in its final year at the state-owned fairgrounds. That's because a new law banning the sale of guns and ammo on the fairgrounds takes effect Jan. 1, 2021.RELATED: Return of Del Mar gun show sparks debate"Ghost guns are an increasing problem in California," the city said in a staff report. "Law enforcement Representative estimate there are several hundred thousand ghost guns nationwide, and that nearly half of all recent crime investigations in Southern California include untraceable firearms assembled from unregulated parts and components."In a statement, gun show president Tracy Olcott said so-called ghost guns are 100 percent legal and that building them is a hobby many enthusiasts enjoy. "These are gun parts kits that an individual can purchase and, after acquiring a serial number from the California Department of Justice, begin the process of assembling the kit," Olcott said. The Southern California ATF says untraceable guns make up 30 percent of the guns it buys undercover or are seizes. But Rose Ann Sharp, who heads the group Never Again CA, which has fought to end the Del Mar gun show, says that's not realistic."Do you think a 16-year-old is going to register the gun? Do you think a felon is going to register a gun? Do you think someone who is suicidal who is not going to pass a background check is going to register a gun? No," she said. But Danielle Jaymes, who heads sales at Poway Weapons and Gear range, said people who want to break the law will, no matter what. "If they aren't legally allowed to buy a gun in California and they go across state lines and buy an unfinished frame and then build up themselves, they're going to do it," she said.
