While residents of The Bahamas are still recovering from Hurricane Dorian, which struck the islands last week, a new storm forming in the Atlantic could pose a threat.The storm, which is being called "Potential Tropical Cyclone No. 9," is swirling in the central Bahamas. The storm is expected to gain strength and move northwest, toward the same islands pounded by Hurricane Dorian. Abaco Island and Grand Bahama Island are among the areas under the tropical storm warning. The two islands faced major devastation from Dorian. Also, Nassau is under a tropical storm warning. The National Hurricane Center expects the cyclone to become a tropical storm on Friday or Saturday. The storm then could strike Florida on Saturday as a tropical storm. Like Dorian, the forecast does not guarantee a landfall in Florida. As of 5 p.m. Thursday, the tropical storm has top winds of 30 MPH. Two Target employees were recognized this week by Stow Police in Northeast Ohio on a Facebook post for preventing an elderly couple from being scammed out of thousands of dollars.Authorities said that the couple walked into the store while taking a phone call and then purchased ,000 worth of gift cards after they hung up. The employees, Amy Waffen and Alyssa Denson, thought something was fishy about it and notified police.It turns out the couple had just come from another Target location an hour earlier where they purchased ,000 worth of gift cards. Authorities determined that the couple were targeted in a scam. Target also voided the transaction to keep the couple from losing money.“The Stow Police Department encourages our citizens and businesses to alert the police to this type of suspicious activity. If you have any suspicion, you are probably correct. Help us prevent further people from losing their hard-earned money.
