SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Renters in San Diego are reacting with surprise, even anger, to a rental listing for what appears to be a backyard shed with an asking price of ,050 a month. The studio is located in the backyard of a home on Oregon Street in North Park, one of San Diego's most walkable neighborhoods. "I was amazed it was going for that much money," said Joe Moreno, who lives nearby. "Does it have plumbing? I mean, does it have facilities?"The answer is yes. Property Management, which is renting the unit, said he expected to get asking price. After all, a prior tenant rented it for ,100 a month for two years. "Maybe it is high for what it is offered at, but the reality is that the square footage and the location is exactly what this market needs," said Alan Nevin, director of research at the Xpera group. The asking price is about 0 per month less than a typical North Park studio. Still, the listing alone is stirring emotions from renters.On Reddit, people called it ridiculous, and one joked they should rent out their walk-in closet if that unit can get ,050 a month.The studio does not include parking. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – San Diego County officials say they are no longer accepting waiver applications from elementary schools looking to reopen for in-person learning.The county’s COVID-19 Education Sector Team made the announcement Tuesday, stating:“This decision is based on the fact that as of September 1, 2020, all TK-12 schools within San Diego County would be permitted to reopen for in-person instruction, if the county’s case rate remains below 100 per 100,000 population for 14 days after coming off the State’s Monitoring List. Today is day 7 of this 14-day period, therefore in one week, all TK-12 schools could be allowed to open for in-person instruction, if the school leadership chooses to do so. Therefore, our application waiver process will be suspended.”The suspension is effective immediately.As of Aug. 20, there were 27 local schools that were approved for waivers. 893

Tom Tanner recently built a granny flat on his home in Lakeside. "I was looking for that additional income to offset the cost of everything," said Tanner. "If it’s doable, yea, do it it all comes down to the numbers, how much they can afford what they’re going to get back."The county is currently working on developing four other designs for homeowners to choose from. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego drivers will have more opportunities to take care of driver’s license renewals and vehicle-related needs thanks to longer hours at California Department of Motor Vehicles offices. Starting Monday, 69 offices will be open for customers at 7 a.m., four days a week. On Wednesdays, the offices will open at 9 a.m. The DMV is offering extended service due to the high demand for Real ID compliant drivers licenses.The early hours will be available in San Diego County at the following DMV locations: El CajonOceansidePowaySan Diego (Hillcrest)San Diego (Clairemont)San Ysidro The Chula Vista DMV office has had extended hours since last summer.
