Customers of Comcast’s Xfinity internet service in many states may find that they will be charged if they use a lot of internet at home.The news comes as many Americans are working, schooling and using the internet to watch TV programs through the internet.Comcast will begin limiting many customers to 1.2 terabytes of internet data per month before charging overages. Beginning in December, Comcast says it will begin offering an unlimited plan for customers who plan to use that much data. For most customers who rent a gateway from Comcast, an unlimited plan would cost an additional a month, while most other customers would pay an additional a month. Comcast will implement the plans for customers in the states of CT, DE, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, parts of NC, NY, parts of OH, PA, VA, VT, WV, and the District of Columbia.The cap will not apply to the Gigabit Pro tier of service or business internet customers.For those who use more than 1.2 terabytes of data per month, Comcast will charge for every 50 gigabytes of additional data. The overages will be capped at 0 per month.Comcast says it will notify customers when they're nearing their data limit, and will send those notifications at 75%, 90% and 100% usage.Comcast says only 5% of its customers exceed 1.2 terabytes of data per month. Before the pandemic, Comcast suspended caps on internet usage as more Americans began using the internet for work and school.Those who stream TV might be most likely to go over the cap. According to Netflix, one hour of video can use up to 7 gigabytes of data. Someone who streams six hours a day without using any additional internet could use up an entire month’s worth of data. Comet NEOWISE may be on its way out, but that doesn't mean that the night sky's light show is set to end.According to the American Meteor Society, two meteor showers are set to peak in the coming days, which could result in several fireballs that light up the sky.One of those showers is the Southern Delta-Aquariids, which, according to NASA, are typically visible between July 12 and Aug. 23. But the agency reports that the system will peak in activity early Monday morning.At its viewing peak — in the southern hemisphere on a clear dark night — the Southern Delta-Aquariids can produce up to 25 meteors an hour, NASA says. Unfortunately, Americans won't be able to see that many fireballs, but experts still say some may still be visible — especially for those with minimal light pollution and clear skies.NASA says the Southern Delta-Aquariids will be most visible between moonset and first dawn on early Monday morning.The American Meteor Society also reports that the Alpha Capricornids will also peak early next week. While the AMS notes that the shower isn't particularly strong (about five meteors an hour), the meteors it does produce are particularly bright and visible.The AMS says the Alpha Capricornids will peak Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.According to the Associated Press, Comet NEOWISE will be visible in the night sky through mid-August before it heads back out toward the outer solar system. 1430

With many on unemployment losing almost two-thirds of their income now, there will be an even greater need in the city and beyond.“Our network of over 1,000 emergency food providers across 90 percent of the zip codes here in the city are really bracing themselves and making sure they are already bringing in enough resources,” Tisdale added.A study done by Feeding America shows 1 in 6 Americans could now struggle with hunger as a result of the financial hardships caused by the pandemic. Cottonwood, Arizona police have arrested a 32-year-old woman in what they call, "One of the worst cases of neglect some of the officers involved have ever seen."Sarah Easterday-Shortridge faces several charges in connection with the crime. On the morning of March 10, the Verde Valley Regional SWAT team served a search warrant at a home.Officers were made aware of the residence after a person received medical treatment from being pistol-whipped by a man staying at the home the night before. Police say officers found Easterday-Shortridge's three children, all under the age of five, living in "deplorable conditions." The abandoned home reportedly had feces, trash, debris, broken glass, and rotting food throughout. Officers described the residence as a "flop-house" for drug users.The children were transported to a medical center where they received treatment and hygiene. Police say the kids were suffering from lice, open sores, scabies, bumps, and were covered in feces. The Department of Child Safety was called to the scene and the children were removed from Easterday-Shortridge’s custody, police said. She has been charged with several felonies including child abuse, endangerment, neglect or abuse of a minor and possession of drug paraphernalia.   1326
