One-time strangers are capturing the attention of tens of thousands of people on the internet.Their Virginia Beach photo shoot left many people hoping their on-camera chemistry develops into something more.Baxter Jackson says he “was not expecting somebody as beautiful as [her]” when he met Heather John. The nerves quickly settled for Jackson after he saw John for the first time during a “stranger session” photo shoot at Stumpy Lake Natural Area. The stranger session looks more like and engagement shoot to many people. When asked if they felt the chemistry, Johnson said, “If I say there was no chemistry, I’d be lying.”The photo shoot was Sunday and the pictures were posted Monday. More than 45,000 shares and 15,000 comments later, social media is captivated by the images and the idea that this is only this beginning.“I shared them and then I checked back probably 30 minutes later and I was like, 'Oh my goodness - this escalated really quickly!' I FaceTime him and I was like, 'Have you seen this? It’s wild!'” says John. The internet sounded off, saying divine intervention is at work and foreshadowing a future for the two.Photographer Cassie Bailey picked the pair after putting out an ad asking for a single male and female to do a stranger shoot.“I got home and edited [the pictures] and I was just like, ‘Am I ready to share this? What is going to happen?" says Bailey. The social media reaction has been overwhelmingly positive, but some have criticized the close contact of all three strangers during a pandemic. They say they felt safe because they all recently tested negative for coronavirus. “If we all tested negative, I felt that it was completely safe for us to work together for them to be as close for me to be up close to them,” says Bailey.Bailey likely won’t be doing anymore stranger session before returning home to Louisiana next month. As for Heather and Baxter, they say they are not dating - but they do have “at least three dates” planned. WTKR's Kofo Lasaki first reported this story. 2042

LOS ALGODONES, Mexico — Just a few miles west of Yuma, Arizona, you’ll find a small but busy town just across the border — Los Algodones, Mexico. You’ve probably never heard of it, but people will travel thousands of miles to visit. Angela Luck flew from Alaska. “To San Diego, got a rental car, drove to Yuma, overnighted there. Drove here,” Luck said. She does it to save hundreds — if not thousands — of dollars on dental work. And she's not alone in doing it. Ali Schroer was on board when her doctor told her she could save hundreds of dollars a month on her allergy medication by ordering it online. “I was a new professional and just trying to save some money, because it was so expensive,” Schroer says. She ordered the prescription on a website that claimed to be an online Canadian pharmacy. “It looked exactly like what I had been taking for years and years, and so, I really didn't think anything of it,” she says. But in a few weeks, she started to feel strange. “I had stomach pains and headaches and kind of achiness,” she recalls. “I would go almost into shock, like I would really get clammy and hot and get like these fever spikes.”When she told a family member about the medication she got online, they did some research and found the site had a reputation for selling counterfeit drugs. Schroer says she threw the medication away, and in within weeks, she felt completely better. Her story is a cautionary tale of the dangers of purchasing medications online. The FDA recently issued a warning letter about the Canadian drug distributor CanaRx, saying it supplied "unapproved" and "misbranded" drugs to consumers in the United States. “If you order medicines online and think they're getting them from Canada, they're probably not coming from Canada,” says Dr. Carmen Catizone, executive director of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy. “If you walk into a pharmacy in Canada, then those are medications that are safe enough that are approved by Canada.” An attorney for the company says CanaRx only facilitates the sale of drugs by American pharmaceutical companies licensed by the FDA in original packaging. However, Dr. Catizone says because the U.S. can't regulate drugs from other countries, it's hard to know exactly where drugs you buy online come from. “If something sounds too good to be true, it's probably too good to be true for something that's licensed for a site, where you can get information from a state agency or federal government about,” Dr. Catizone explains. As for Schroer, she has decided to stop online shopping for her prescriptions.“You just don't know enough about where it comes from,” Schroer says. 2210

It was not a quiet afternoon Monday at Madison Square Park.Brian Kemsley was walking with his girlfriend when he saw and heard a commotion on the Fifth Avenue side of Madison Square Park. He saw a man trying to rip away a stroller.“It's not a matter of stepping in it's a matter of duty, when you see a woman and her child screaming,” he said.He says the man was asked to let go of the stroller but kept reaching for the baby. The mother was also holding another toddler and everyone was screaming.Kemsley pinned him down and waited for police to arrive. It was captured by a witness on social media. Witnesses recorded video and called 911. Rangers arrived after about fifteen minutes and Kemsley says police took the man into custody. He was taken to a hospital and no one was hurt. President Donald Trump said tonight that he has signed an executive order to shut down the use of Chinese-based social media applications TikTok and WeChat in 45 days. The order specifically prohibits any U.S. transactions with TikTok's parent company, ByteDance, starting on Sept. 20.Trump cited privacy concerns for taking the action against the social media networks.TikTok in particular has gained popularity among younger Americans in recent months for its short, entertaining video clips. The TikTok community has often been critical of Trump. Earlier in the summer, users of TikTok organized by reserving tickets to Trump’s rally in Tulsa, which failed to draw the type of crowds the Trump campaign expected.Trump said in his order that WeChat and TikTok “automatically captures vast swaths of information from its users -- threatens to allow the Chinese Communist Party access to Americans’ personal and proprietary information. In addition, WeChat captures the personal and proprietary information of Chinese nationals visiting the United States, thereby allowing the Chinese Communist Party a mechanism for keeping tabs on Chinese citizens who may be enjoying the benefits of a free society for the first time in their lives.”The Trump administration has complained that the application takes data and is used by the Chinese government."All the things that you care that you want to make sure the Chinese Communist Party doesn’t have, we have a responsibility to make sure that the systems that you’re using don’t give them access to that," US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said two weeks ago. After Trump first said he would ban TikTok in the US last week, TikTok responded by saying in a post on Twitter, “We’re not planning on going anywhere.”Trump said earlier this week he is open to changing his mind if TikTok is sold to an American company. "But if somebody and whether it's Microsoft or somebody else buys it, that'll be interesting," Trump said. "I did say that, if you buy it, whatever the price is that goes to whoever owns it, because I guess it's China essentially, but more than anything else, I said, a very substantial portion of that price is going to have to come into the treasury of the United States because we're making it possible for this deal to happen." 2313
