SAN DIEGO, Calif. (KGTV) - A San Diego ICU nurse who tested positive for coronavirus at 29 years old wants to share her story with the community. Marianna Cisneros was participating in fitness competitions and in the best shape of her life at the end of 2019. She tested positive for coronavirus July 20, 2020 and since then, has gone from the best shape to the worst, showing that the virus can impact anyone, even someone young and healthy like herself.She said the first couple weeks of her sickness were mild, then in the third week, her symptoms got worse. She lost feeling in her right side, couldn’t walk and spent six days in the hospital. Now, three months after testing positive, and she still has not recovered.“You can’t even get out of bed. There are times when I am crawling to the bathroom to try to take a shower,” she said.The mom of three said she doesn’t have the strength to pick her four-year-old up now, and also has not been able to return to work. She doesn’t know when she’ll have the strength to keep up with the physically demanding job of an ICU nurse.“Even I, at the beginning of this, was thinking even if I caught COVID, I’ll be fine. Here I am months later and I am not fine. We don’t know what the future holds for me. If this is permanent, if I’ll be able to go back to work as a nurse. The future is really uncertain,” she said.Cisneros said her husband has been a stay at home dad for almost five years and is now looking for a job to compensate for the loss of her work. She now wants to share her story with others to remind the public that anyone can get sick.“People really just need to take this virus seriously. SAN DIEGO (KGTV)— As the heat wave continues across San Diego County, businesses operating outside are forced to deal with another challenge during this pandemic.While the county has been removed from the state’s monitoring list, no guidance on reopening businesses has been provided, so many continue to work outside.“It’s super-hot,” said Elise Ha, owner of Master Hair & Nails in Ramona. By noon the temperature had reached over 100 degrees, causing discomfort for employees, and slowing down her business.“Not everybody can handle the heat,” she said “It’s brutal.”Ha said working in the heat is a new struggle businesses are facing, especially having to move equipment back and forth to set up outside every day.“I almost fainted because of the heat,” she said. “I can’t wait to back inside.”For now she's using wet towels to cool down and offering cold water to clients.ABC 10News spotted utility workers in Alpine using umbrellas to shield themselves from the scorching sun as temperatures continued to climb Tuesday.The high heat and humidity is making things uncomfortable across the county and the dry fuel causing concerns of fire danger, still some are managing to get by.“We still get a rush,” said Carlos Legaspi, a cook at Tapatio Mexican Grill in Alpine. “We get a lot of city workers and construction workers and stuff that come in for lunch.”Legaspi said the restaurant owners moved tables outdoors before it was required by the state as a safety precaution.While it may be uncomfortable currently, he said things have been running smoothly and the employees have adapted to the changes.“It’s super hot, it’s like 100 degrees right now,” he said before noon Tuesday. “People are kind of used to it now.”As the heat wave continues, SDG&E is urging everyone to limit energy use to avoid power outages.You can do your part by turning off unnecessary lights, precooling your home early in the day, and setting your thermostat to 78 degrees or higher in the afternoon. 1997

Many people also wore collars, like RBG. A memorial on the steps of the Superior Court grew, filled with signs, flowers and candles.“It’s shaken some folks and we just want to come together and share our strength because ultimately we believe there is strength in unity,” said Lesa Thode, secretary for Women’s March San Diego.Thode said they wanted to give people a place to grieve and remember RBG together. She added that there will be more memorials in the near future that will be more accommodating for the Jewish community, who are in the middle of Rosh Hashanah. One attendee of the vigil was Felicia Rawlins, co-founder of the group Encinitas for Equality.“Came down here to grieve our loss of RGB and take a moment to really feel the feels before we start taking action,” said Rawlins.Many other attendees echoed the need to process, then use the legacy of Ruth Bader Ginsburg to continue forward with the change she started. 1359

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) People across California will soon be able to use an app to notify or find out if they have been exposed to COVID-19.The CA Notify system was launched on the campus of UC San Diego in September. Monday, Governor Gavin Newsom announced the tool would be available on Google and Apple devices statewide beginning on December 10th.Dr. Christopher Longhurst, Chief Information Officer for UC San Diego Health, says the tool helps stop the spread of the virus on campus."While San Diego case rates have surged from 3 to 6 percent, our campus has fortunately remained a safer place with our students and employees testing positive at less than 1 percent," said Dr. Longhurst.Philip Tajanko is a freshman at UCSD. He signed up for the app shortly after arriving on campus in September."I figured that I might as well download the app just in case," said Tajanko.Tajanko tested positive for the virus in October."Outside of the people I directly informed by giving them a phone call or text, it did give me some peace of mind knowing that I could just send out this blanket alert that would notify anyone that I had been in contact with but don't have their phone number," said Tajanko.The system uses smartphone technology when a users' phone is within close proximity to another user for an extended period."You're not going to get an exposure unless your phone is within 6 feet of someone else's device for greater than 15 minutes cumulatively," said Dr. Longhurst.The governor stressed the app is opt-in, 100% private, secure, and does not track location.It has been effective. SAN DIEGO (KGTV)-- The tenants of two galleries in North Park tell 10News the new owner of their building has raised the rent so high they're been left with no choice but to leave. Owners at The Studio Door and Good Friday will both be gone from their current location on 30th Street by the end of the summer. "It was devastating we've been searching trying to find something new another space but the rents are just so high right now, " said Chris Smith, who has been with The Studio Door for nearly four years.Smith says the rent went from ,000 a month to nearly ,000. He says the galleries were some of the only left in the area."There used to be a lot of artists and art galleries here in North Park," he said. "That's what really built up North Park to be what it is and as the rents went up they all just get pushed out." So far there's no word on what will take over the spaces once the current tenants are out. 965
