KGTV - Two young girls were found safe after an AMBER Alert was issued Saturday evening, and the suspect is in custody, California Highway Patrol confirmed.An AMBER Alert was issued around 7:15 p.m. Saturday evening for a 2014 black and purple Dodge Challenger, California license plate 7WKZ957.The suspect, Anthony Lee Gaines, 29, called police himself after the AMBER Alert was issued, Los Angeles Police said.The girls, ages five and seven, were at their grandmother's house with the suspect, police said.This is a developing story. KOHLER, Wis. – Two major golf tournaments have been postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.The PGA announced Wednesday that the Ryder Cup has been rescheduled for September 21-26, 2021 at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin. It was originally scheduled for September 22-27 of this year.The Ryder Cup is a biennial men's golf competition between teams from Europe and the U.S., which began in 1927.Likewise, the Presidents Cup, initially slated for September 30-October 3, 2021, at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, will now be played September 19-25, 2022.The decision to reschedule the Ryder Cup was based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and in conjunction with the state and local health officials.“Unlike other major sporting events that are played in existing stadiums, we had to make a decision now about building facilities to host the 2020 Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits,” said PGA of America CEO Seth Waugh. “It became clear that as of today, our medical experts and the public authorities in Wisconsin could not give us certainty that conducting an event responsibly with thousands of spectators in September would be possible. Given that uncertainty, we knew rescheduling was the right call. KEARNY MESA (KGTV): A San Diego surfer is making a name for himself on the Professional Big Wave World Tour. He's now using his newfound fame to help kids in Southern California hospitals.Jo Jo Roper is in his first year on tour. Just before Thanksgiving, he shredded a 60-foot wave in Portugal."That feeling, it's hard to describe," Roper says of surfing waves that big. "Sometimes you black out, to be honest, you don't even remember what happened."Roper says he remembers everything from the wave this week. It was the fulfillment of a lifelong dream and years of preparation."It's really difficult," he says. "So when you line one up, it's that much more rewarding to kick out a wave."Roper comes from a family of pro surfers. His dad, Joe Roper, surfed professionally in the '70s and '80s. He stopped when he had kids, and says it's a thrill to watch Jo Jo pick up the family mantle."He's taken it to another level," says Joe Roper. "I'm so proud of him."Jo Jo is giving his parents a lot to be proud of outside of surfing. He's starting working with City of Hope Hospital in Los Angeles. It helps treat kids with cancer. "These kids are stronger than anything I've ever done," he says. "What they go through is on a whole other level of what's amazing. I'm just trying to bring some joy to them."Jo Jo has the kids decorate his surfboards with their handprints and signatures. He looks at them for inspiration when he's riding the big waves."It's very heartwarming for me," he says. "It gives me a bigger purpose when I'm sitting in the line-up. I look down and have all these kids on my side. It's awesome."Jo Jo will auction off the boards he uses on the pro tour later this year. The money will go to City of Hope. (KGTV) - The San Bernardino couple accused of keeping their children in unsanitary conditions pleaded not guilty Friday to three felony counts of child abuse, KABC reported.Mona Kirk, 51, and Daniel Panico, 73, appeared in Joshua Tree Superior Court.San Bernardino Sheriff’s deputies were checking the area near their home Wednesday afternoon and found a trailer that appeared to be abandoned. Also on the property was a large plywood box.A further inspection showed no electricity or running water, and large mounds of trash and human feces.Prosecutors said the couple did not provide the 11, 13 and 14 year old children with enough food.Almost four dozen cats were on the property.RELATED: Perris couple accused of shackling, abusing childrenKABC reported the couple's friends said the family was homeless.A judge ordered Kirk and Panico to be held on 0,000 bail, according to KABC.  921
