DEL MAR, Calif. (KGTV) -- Scott Eastwood was caught on video taking down signs as Del Mar residents protested a proposed luxury resort Sunday. A protestor, Spencer Gobar, who confronted Eastwood in the video, told 10News that the actor identified himself to the group as an official from the city.Eastwood reportedly told demonstrators to take down signs and banners at Del Mar Plaza. However, Gobar said she recognized Eastwood as soon as she saw his face, having seen him numerous times around the area. She asked him by name to stop trying to remove the sign. Eastwood then walked away as the protestors heckled him about his actions and about his famous father, Hollywood icon Clint Eastwood."It all happened so fast," Gobar told 10News. "The last thing I was expecting was for this D-list celebrity to show up and try to dismantle the sign."Eastwood owns at least one business in the North County, a clothing company based in Encinitas. However, it is not clear why he wanted the protest signs against Del Mar Measure G removed. A spokesperson for the proposed resort told 10News in an email that Eastwood has no involvement in the project. 1153

You can even upload recordings to highlight public-speaking skills.Look at profiles of people who are leaders in the industry you’re targeting to get inspiration for what to highlight and how to present yourself in your own profile.Network virtuallySocial distancing hasn’t killed networking; it’s just made it virtual.The usual players — trade organizations, alumni groups and professional organizations — are all still meeting via webinars and video conferencing.Moving online can make networking less intimidating for newbies. You can ease into building connections, absorbing information and building the confidence to eventually become a more active participant.You can, and should, also make meaningful one-on-one connections. This is an important step under normal circumstances but it is critical now, as the economic upheaval of the pandemic has increased competition for available jobs.“Don’t be self-defeating and copy and paste the same thing into 100 job applications. That is not the right approach.” Rodenbaugh-Schaub says.Avoid simply listing skills or tasks. Instead, give them context. Highlight how your experience and actions delivered measurable outcomes.Tailoring your resume also means including keywords or phrases from the job posting, since companies use software to sift through the initial barrage of applicants.Consider alternative career paths“COVID-19 is unlike anything we have seen, so you have to be flexible,” says Glenn Hellenga, director of career and employability resources at Tri-County Technical College in South Carolina.That might mean working in a short-term contract role in your field or accepting a job that is completely outside your career path. After all, you’ve got bills to pay.Taking a detour doesn’t mean abandoning your goals entirely. Instead, find opportunities to develop the tools you’ll need for your dream job. (KGTV) — While concerts are on hiatus during the pandemic, the Del Mar Fairgrounds will host several "concerts in your car" this fall.Acts including Dirty Heads, DJ Snoopadelic (aka Snoop Dogg), Slightly Stoopid, The Beach Boys, and more will take the stage at Del Mar between Sept. 25 and Nov. 1. Concerts will be held on a high, theater-in-the-round style, four-sided stage to give concertgoers a view of the show from any direction.Ticket prices for vehicles range based on the concert and which color-coded section you select. Many of the concerts start at per car for the furthest section from the stage. Large video screens have been added to each side of the stage.Passengers must not exceed the number of seats and seat belts in a vehicle, according to the concert series' producer. Vehicles will then tune into the audio via their radio, sit back, and enjoy.Tickets must be purchased ahead of time and are online only.Movie screenings are also scheduled between Sept. 22 and 30 for a flat rate of per car, featuring Trolls, Grease, Jurassic Park, The Big Lebowski, and Dirty Dancing. 1124

DENVER — Farmers' markets have begun to return after a lengthy COVID-19 shutdown — and at the One Belleview Station Farmers' Market in Denver, a laid-off restaurant worker is doing her part to get fresh produce to those that need it.Alexandra LittleJohn lost her job as a barista due to the pandemic. But she used her restaurant connections to buy produce boxes for co-workers."Once I got laid off, people just started sending me money and said we wanted to donate a box. So I found a way to donate the boxes," she said.Her work evolved into the LittleJohn Produce Box Project. Using restaurant suppliers, she's boxing up fresh vegetables to be sold and donated amid the pandemic."This is a produce box project that was founded out of COVID-19," LittleJohn Produce said. "I never thought I'd be slinging produce at the farmers market in a pandemic."She started selling the boxes online and at farmers' markets, like the one at Belleview Station. She fills the boxes with locally-grown produce from Fresh Guys Produce that would usually be sold to restaurants, but due to the pandemic, it's not."It would just go to waste, and the farmers wouldn't be getting their full price for them," LittleJohn said.LittleJohn wanted to help farmers, the local produce companies, and, of course, the people who needed fresh food."We use some of the profits for operating expenses like buying a banner, getting a tent, or paying for gas, but then we also buy boxes to give back to other people," LittleJohn said.They have sold almost 800 boxes so far, and with the help of sponsors, they've donated over 350 boxes.LittleJohn says she's applying for 501(c)(3) status to get grants and do even more."It makes me feel like I'm contributing in a positive way to just get us through this.
