SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Caltrans is warning drivers about a series of SR-163 closures throughout the week. According to the agency, all lanes of north and southbound SR-163 between I-8 and Genesee Avenue for three to six nights. The highway will be closed so crews can remove falsework from the bridge on the SR-163 Friars Road overcrossing. The southbound closures will begin at 11 p.m. with the northbound closures starting at 11:30 p.m. All lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. The list below shows which lanes will be closed on certain nights: Sunday: All southbound lanes, the northbound far right collector lane and the right main lane (slow lane).Monday: No full freeway closure. Gavin Newsom closing beaches where coronavirus numbers are rising. But the family took the chance that San Diego beaches would stay open.“We figured this morning we got the kids up. OK, let’s take a chance; either we can get to the beach or we can’t. If not, there’s a pool at the hotel,” Edward Cotus said.Law enforcement agencies said they will be out this weekend reminding people about the rules. However, they say it will be up to the public to follow them.The Cotus family said they understand why people don’t like wearing the face coverings, but they believe it’s everyone’s responsibility to do their part in controlling the spread of this virus.“We all have to be responsible and just try to really implement social distancing on our own. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Clothing retailer Forever 21 announced Tuesday it may close three stores in San Diego County as part of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy restructuring. The affected locations, which include Fashion Valley, University Towne Center, and Parkway Plaza in El Cajon, could be shut down "pending the outcome of continued conversations with landlords,” according to court documents. Attorneys also said the list of store closures could change pending restructuring efforts.Forever 21 has 800 stores worldwide and plans to close almost 200. "We do however expect a significant number of these stores will remain open and operate as usual, and we do not expect to exit any major markets in the US," the company said.
