TRABUCO CANYON, Calif. – A large brush fire burning in the Cleveland National Forest’s Trabuco Canyon is spreading quickly Monday afternoon. The fire, dubbed the Holy Fire, was reported around 1:30 p.m. near Holy Jim Canyon and Trabuco Creek roads, according to KABC.The Orange County Fire Authority said the blaze grew quickly from between seven and 10 acres to at least 700.The fire also destroyed at least one structure and is threatening several communication towers at the top of a nearby hill.The fire is currently burning away from Orange County and those living in the community of Holy Jim were asked to evacuate out of precaution. Cal Fire is assisting in fighting the blaze. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. 765

Three Democratic senators on Monday filed a lawsuit challenging the appointment of acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker, ratcheting up the court effort to declare his placement atop the Justice Department as unconstitutional.Sens. Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island and Mazie Hirono of Hawaii filed the suit in US District Court on Monday, represented by the progressive public interest groups Protect Democracy and the Constitutional Accountability Center."The stakes are too high to allow the president to install an unconfirmed lackey to lead the Department of Justice — a lackey whose stated purpose, apparently, is undermining a major investigation into the president," Whitehouse said in a statement.The lawsuit is only the latest challenge to Whitaker's appointment to replace Jeff Sessions after President Donald Trump fired his attorney general the day after the election.Whitaker has come under fire from Democrats and others because he was a vocal critic of special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation before joining the Justice Department.He was serving as Sessions' chief of staff before Sessions was ousted, and has not gone through the Senate confirmation process in that role. Now, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) wants to do something similar with the COVID-19 vaccine.The CDC suggested that people receive a sticker that says, “I got my COVID-19 vaccine.”Other groups are also starting similar initiatives.Adam Wiatrowski founded Courage Thru COVID, a group that's trying to raise awareness not only about coronavirus, but also the vaccine.The group created wristbands to give out to folks who have gotten the shot. Their goal is to create positivity.“We’re all in this together, and our goal with the Courage Thru COVID wristband is to give people an opportunity to show their unity and show their support for each other,” said Wiatrowski.The wristbands are a bright, neon green with the words “Courage Thru COVID” printed on them. Right now, only hospitals in Minnesota are getting them, but Wiatrowski hopes to expand the effort across the country.There are questions over whether this would really encourage people to get vaccinated. Psychology experts say think so, because there’s power in numbers. If we see a lot of people sporting these stickers, we're likely to be motivated enough to get the vaccine.The stickers can also create a sense of belonging.“That sense of belonging does cause us to feel, again, more motivated to belong to that group, to do what those other people around us are doing.
