CHULA VISTA (CNS) - Police Friday raided an illegal South Bay marijuana dispensary and made six arrests.According to the Chula Vista Police Department, officers served a search warrant at 9 a.m. on the black market dispensary at 259 Broadway, acting on community complaints.A half-dozen people were taken into custody on suspicion of possession of marijuana for sales, conspiracy to sale marijuana and operating a marijuana dispensary without a license, according to a police statement. CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - The City of Chula Vista’s controversial Drag Queen Story Time is moving to a different branch to accommodate the number of registrants, city officials said Tuesday. The event, which was supposed to take place at the Otay Ranch library, will now be held at the Civic Center library on Sept. 10 at 4 p.m. “The Chula Vista Public Library welcomes everyone, and programming at the City’s three libraries includes and reflects the diverse communities the libraries serve,” city officials said in a news release. “Hosting drag queens to read and relate with children promotes reading and literacy and sends a positive message of acceptance and tolerance.” A protest against the event was held Thursday, as opponents said they were concerned it would sexually influence children. Chula Vista Police intervened twice between both sides of the issue. CHULA VISTA (KGTV) -- Authorities have arrested a 44-year-old Casa De Oro man in connection with his husband's murder.According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, Daniel Scott Jordan was taken into custody Thursday in Reno, Nevada following a joint agency investigation involving San Diego Sheriff’s Department, the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force in San Diego, and the USMS Fugitive Task Force in Reno."Jordan was booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility as a Fugitive from Justice and will await extradition to San Diego," said sheriff's Lt.
