Megyn Kelly's future at NBC News is very much in doubt. Her 9 a.m. show "Megyn Kelly Today" is ending, according to sources with knowledge of the matter. It is unclear if she will remain with the network in a lesser role.Multiple news outlets reported Thursday that she is leaving NBC altogether. However, Kelly spokesman Davidson Goldin told CNN Business that NBC has not been in touch with Kelly or her representatives.Kelly did not host her show as scheduled on Thursday morning. The network replaced her live telecast with a pre-taped episode."Given the circumstances, Megyn Kelly Today will be on tape the rest of the week," an NBC News spokeswoman said Thursday morning.Another source said that Kelly's show will be ending, but negotiations about the end date and other details are still underway. She is scheduled to participate in the network's midterm election night coverage in two weeks, but now that is up in the air.Kelly has parted ways with her talent agency, CAA, according to the sources, and she has hired attorney Bryan Freedman. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Freedman is scheduled to meet with NBC executives on Friday. The decision to retain a lawyer may signal a lengthy battle over her contract, which is reportedly valued at million a year. She is in the middle of the second year of a three year contract. The talks about dropping Kelly's 9 a.m. show pre-dated this week's controversy about her offensive comments about blackface Halloween costumes.NBC News staffers were calling her show a "disaster" well before this latest controversy. And Kelly has been openly challenging the news division's management, including NBC News chair Andy Lack, for months.Spokespeople for NBC News declined to comment on her future at the network, and most staffers at the news division remain in the dark about what's happening with the show.Kelly started her show on Wednesday by apologizing for the comments made the previous day. Her audience gave her a standing ovation, but disappointment inside NBC News runs deep and isn't likely to fade anytime soon. Al Roker and Craig Melvin strongly criticized Kelly's comments during the 7 a.m. hour of "Today" on Wednesday. And Lack condemned her comments at an 11 a.m. town hall meeting. 2263

YUMA, Ariz. — Mayor Douglas Nicholls announced a state of emergency Tuesday in Yuma, Arizona, due to the large amount of asylum-seeking migrants being released into the city.Yuma is the first border city to declare a state of emergency in response to the influx of migrant families coming to the U.S.-Mexico border seeking asylum. The U.S. Border Patrol has been releasing migrants to Yuma's shelter system over the last few weeks."There's an imminent threat of having too many migrant releases into our community, and it's above our capacity as a community to sustain," Nicholls 591

Workers at the Pennsylvania petrochemical plant where President Donald Trump spoke Tuesday were told that if they didn't attend the event, they either had to use paid time off or receive no pay for the day.At least some of the workers who attended the speech were instructed not to protest the President, who told the crowd of workers at the Royal Dutch Shell plant he would be imploring their union leaders to support his reelection. The instructions to the workers came in a memo, a copy of which was obtained by CNN's Polo Sandoval from a congressional source. That source was given the memo by a person in Beaver County, Pennsylvania -- the site of the plant."Your attendance is not mandatory. This will be considered an excused absence. However, those who are NOT in attendance will not receive overtime pay on Friday," read part of the memo.Shell spokesman Curtis Smith confirmed workers were told they would also miss out on some overtime pay if they skipped the event. Shell said it did not write the memo. The 1029

Delta's decision to cut ties with the NRA could cost it a generous tax break from the state of Georgia. The state's Republicans — including a major candidate for governor— are threatening to kill part of a bill that would eliminate a state tax on jet fuel. If it passes, the provision is expected to save the Atlanta-based airline tens of millions of dollars."We felt that it was wrong for them to single out one company," said Chuck Hufstetler, chairman of the state's Senate Finance Committee. Delta on Saturday announced that it would end discounted rates for National Rifle Association members.Hufstetler told CNN on Monday that if the airline does not reverse its stance on the NRA soon, he and others will push for the tax break to be stripped from the bill. The bill still needs to pass the Senate before it can be signed into law.If Delta holds its ground, he added, "I don't think [the bill] will pass as it is."The bill was until recently on track to earn approval from lawmakers.Georgia's House of Representatives voted in favor of the legislation last week. It also won over Republican Governor Nathan Deal, who called the measure an important part of the state's tax reform plan that would "keep Georgia competitive as a major international hub of commerce."Deal said at the time that he was "confident" in the bill's speedy passage.Things changed over the weekend.Delta became one of several companies — others include United Airlines and Hertz — to abandon its relationship with the NRA after a school shooting in Florida two weeks ago left 17 dead. That shooting has sparked renewed public debate over gun laws and reform.Delta said in a statement Saturday that the decision "reflects the airline's neutral status in the current national debate over gun control." It did not immediately respond Monday to CNN's request for comment.Georgia Republicans quickly rebuked the airline's decision.Georgia Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle, a frontrunner in the state's gubernatorial race this year, vowed to "kill any tax legislation" that helps Delta unless it reverses course."Corporations cannot attack conservatives and expect us not to fight back," he tweeted.Rick Jeffares, a Republican who is running for lieutenant governor, also criticized the airline."Delta is now seeking a MILLION TAX BREAK from the Georgia Legislature," he posted on his campaign website. "Should Delta be rewarded for their attack on the NRA? I say "NO!"Since Thursday, more than a dozen brands have severed ties with the NRA. In a statement on Saturday, the NRA called those decisions "a shameful display of political and civic cowardice."Other companies have stood firm in their relationships with the gun group.FedEx is keeping its discount for NRA members in place, saying Monday that it "has never set or changed rates for any of our millions of customers around the world in response to their politics, beliefs or positions on issues."And the streaming platform Roku, which carries the online video channel NRATV, said last week that customers can choose which channels to download or watch."We operate an open streaming platform, however our content policies prohibit the publication of content that is unlawful, incites illegal activities or violates third-party rights," spokesperson Tricia Mifsud said at the time. 3339

(CNN) -- As Belgium experienced its hottest day on record on Wednesday, two men found themselves in a sticky situation -- trapped in a shipping container full of cocaine, the men became so hot that they called the police on themselves.Police were called to the port of Antwerp on Wednesday by the men, who were trapped inside a shipping container for several hours, a spokesman for Antwerp's shipping police told CNN.Temperatures rose to 102 Fahrenheit Wednesday, the hottest ever recorded in the country, according to the national weather service. Wednesday's record was smashed a day later, with 105.2 Fahrenheit recorded, according to the UK's Met Office."They called the police to get them out of there, because the container was locked from the outside," a spokesman for Antwerp's shipping police told CNN.The police were in for quite a surprise. "They found a lot of cocaine inside the container," the spokesman said. The men are currently in custody, and police have opened an investigation. 1005
