(AP) — The owner of a North Carolina speedway advertised "Bubba Rope" for sale on a social media marketplace page days after NASCAR found a noose in the garage stall of Black driver Bubba Wallace. Mike Fulp, the owner of the half-mile 311 Speedway in Stokes County, advertised the rope in a pitch on Facebook Marketplace that read: "Buy your Bubba Rope today for only .99 each, they come with a lifetime warranty and work great.'' DENVER, Colorado — The deadliest wildfire in California's history has left behind a path of unimaginable destruction, wiping out homes and killing at least 50 people. The Hamilton family had nine minutes to evacuate and barely escaped as flames raced toward their home. They lost everything in the fire just three weeks after moving all their belongings to Paradise, California.Steve Hamilton, his wife Delinda and their three kids moved from Colorado to California so he could take a job as a lead pastor. The family spent six years in Colorado where he worked for the Rocky Mountain Conference of Seventh-day Adventists."I know it was a really hard decision for him to leave but he felt like God was calling him out there," said Matt Moreland, a longtime friend and former coworker.Boxes were still packed when the fire destroyed the home where they had recently moved in. Pictures show the outline of a foundation and some of their belongings in the debris."They really just jumped in the car and drove away and Steve said when they were driving away their front yard was already on fire," said Moreland.He say the family didn't have insurance yet because they had just moved. Despite their loss, the family is focusing on helping others in their new community. "As soon as they went down the hill in Chico, Steve was calling people, asking for supplies to get things organized in order to start helping these people," said Moreland.Now friends are trying to help the family start over. DENVER, Colorado — A gunman did not go to Arapahoe High School "this past Friday" with the intention of killing people.According to a post that's been circulating on Facbook for awhile, the shooter was "the only one dead" after an "armed school resource officer confronted him." That post has been recirculating following a deadly school shooting in Parkland, Florida on Feb. 14, 2018, which has spurred a bigger national conversation about arming teachers and about gun control.There was not a school shooting incident in Arapahoe recently, nor on Dec. 11, 2015. There was a shooting at the school Dec. 13, 2013 in which a shooter, an 18-year-old senior and debate club member, did shoot another student, who died several days later. The gunman also attempted to start a fire in the school and eventually shot himself in the head.According to fact-checker website Snopes.com, a school custodian saw the shooter and alerted security personnel. Those security professionals were joined by a deputy, but none shot the gunman.They did help minimize casualties by directing civilians at the scene and racing to confront the shooter.CNN reports the entire incident was over in 80 seconds.
