Snapchat can't catch a break.Shares of the social media company plunged Wednesday after it changed its app again — only months after a previous redesign that ticked off users.Snap stock was down 7% in midday trading, putting it more than 15% below the price when it went public last year.Last year, Snapchat changed the app to differentiate between a user's personal friends and media superstars that a user follows. Many fans revolted. So did Wall Street.The latest changes appear to backtrack. And it couldn't happen at a worse time for the company.It's still not clear that Snapchat will ever be able to be profitable enough to live up to the hype before it went public. Snapchat rallied after its last "earnings" report, but investors still worry about slow user growth.In many respects, Snapchat's challenges are similar to those of Twitter — a company that never can seem to satisfy Wall Street. Twitter stock fell Wednesday even though the company reported revenue and profit that topped forecasts.Concerns about privacy for social media users have reached new heights since the Facebook/Cambridge Analytica data scandal.Of course, Facebook also owns Snapchat's fiercest rival, Instagram. South Korea said Saturday that North Korea has accepted its proposal to hold high-level inter-Korean talks next week.In a statement, South Korea's Unification Ministry said the talks are planned for Thursday.The talks were first proposed by South Korea to be held in the Panmunjom truce village in the Korean Demilitarized Zone.North Korea said it will be represented by a three-member delegation led by Ri Son Kwon, chairman of the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland Committee.South Korea stated earlier that its three-member delegation will be led by Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyon.The announcement came a day after South Korean President Moon Jae-in teased the possibility of another meeting, this one among the United States, North Korea and South Korea.Moon said negotiations are continuing ahead of the "historic talks" planned for next month with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. He's expected to meet with Kim in April, the first time the North Korean leader has publicly met with a foreign head of state."Through these talks and future talks, we must end the nuclear and peace issue on the Korean Peninsula. It is necessary to make it possible for the two Koreas to live together peacefully without interfering with each other or damaging each other," Moon said this week.The meeting between Moon and Kim is just a warm-up for the main event, however, with US President Donald Trump accepting an invitation to meet with the North Korean leader sometime before the end of May.It will be the first time a sitting US president has met with a member of North Korea's ruling Kim family.  1618

SPRING VALLEY, Calif. (KGTV) – A construction worker was struck by a vehicle and killed along state Route 94 in Spring Valley in a crash the California Highway Patrol said is DUI-related.The collision happened just before 10 p.m. Wednesday on westbound SR-94 near Cougar Canyon Drive, CHP officials said.According to the CHP, the stretch of roadway was “an active construction zone” with the westbound side coned off. A construction worker was directing traffic when a 1996 Lincoln Town Car entered the coned area and hit him, the CHP reported.The worker, identified only as a 27-year-old San Diego resident, was rushed to the hospital but died from his injuries.CHP officials said the Lincoln’s driver, 69-year-old San Diego resident Arnold Lee Patton, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter.Patton was booked into County Jail for felony DUI causing injury or death and gross vehicular manslaughter, the CHP reported.The incident remains under investigation. 988

CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio (AP) — Robert Murray, who, as a leader of the largest privately-owned U.S. coal operator long fought federal regulations to reduce black lung disease, has died.A lawyer tells The Intelligencer/Wheeling News-Register that Murray died Sunday at age 80 at his home in St. Clairsville, Ohio.He had announced his retirement on Oct. 19 from American Consolidated Natural Resource Holdings Inc. as board chairman.The company sued unsuccessfully in 2014 over regulations to cut coal dust in mines to reduce black lung disease.No official cause of death was given.According to the Associated Press, recent reports stated Murray had applied for black lung benefits with the U.S. Labor Department in early October.The AP reported that the West Virginia Public Broadcasting and Ohio Valley ReSource confirmed the claim through an online portal maintained by the Labor Department.Murray stated on the claim that he was on oxygen and "near death," the AP reported. 980

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — Police say the body of the missing mayor of South Korea's capital, Seoul, has been found. They say Park Won-soon’s body was located in hills in northern Seoul early Friday, more than seven hours after they launched a massive search for him. Park’s daughter had called police on Thursday afternoon to report him missing, saying he had given her a “will-like” message before leaving home. Police say the daughter didn’t explain the contents of the message.News reports say one of Park’s secretaries had lodged a complaint with police on Wednesday night over alleged sexual harassment.An activist and human rights lawyer, Park became the city’s first mayor to be voted into a third term last June. He was also a potential presidential candidate in 2022 polls. 790
