With news of charges against New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft in a human-trafficking and prostitution sting, a question arises: what are potential ramifications?Owners are subject to the NFL’s personal conduct policy. Owners and league employees are held to an equally stringent or higher standard than the players. The NFL is capable of handing down consequences to employees that are more significant than a court of law. According to 458

(CNN) -- Air miles programs should be banned and a levy on frequent flyers implemented in order to reduce carbon emissions from aviation, according to new research. The measure is one of a number of recommendations from Richard Carmichael at Imperial College London, who published a report Thursday on how the UK can meet its target of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.Carmichael carried out his report for the Committee on Climate Change (CCC), an independent body that advises the UK government, which has previously said the country needed to become carbon-neutral by 2050 in order to fulfill its obligations under the Paris Agreement on climate change. The UK later became the first major economy to legally commit to the target. This report does not represent CCC's recommendations."Flying is a uniquely high-impact activity and is the quickest and cheapest way for a consumer to increase their carbon footprint," the report says.Air miles programs encourage people to take extra flights to keep up their "privileged traveler status" and should be banned, according to the report.So-called "mileage runs" are a common way for travelers to top up their points in order to maintain access to perks such as priority boarding. An air miles levy would be based on the number of miles flown by each passenger, penalizing those who fly the most while leaving the majority of people unaffected.Research shows that 15% of the UK population take 70% of flights, and these travelers -- who tend to be wealthier and less price-sensitive -- would shoulder most of the burden. By way of comparison, 50% of Britons don't fly at all in any one year. The levy would also encourage short-haul flights rather than more damaging long-haul flights, shift demand from planes to trains, and raise money that could be used to fund research into low-carbon aviation technology, the report said."Given the scope for frequent flyers to have carbon footprints many times that of the average UK household, a lack of policy in this area is likely to be increasingly seen as inconsistent and unjust and risks damaging public engagement with climate action," the report reads. While the report pushes for government policies to tackle emissions, private initiatives have already sprung up.Last week, International Airlines Group (IAG) -- which includes British Airways, Aer Lingus and Iberia -- promised to remove or offset all carbon emissions from its fleet of more than 570 aircraft by 2050.IAG said it would replace older aircraft, invest in sustainable jet fuel and develop technology that removes CO2 from the atmosphere. And some employers have signed up to a program that grants extra paid leave for staff who travel by train rather than plane.Climate Perks is an organization that works to encourage people to cut their carbon footprint by traveling by train without sacrificing their vacation time. This story has been updated to clarify the authorship of the report. It was researched and published by Richard Carmichael at Imperial College London for the Committee on Climate Change. 3070

View this post on Instagram I will not be returning for Season 2 of The Rookie. I owe it to you my amazing fans to share the Truth. Throughout the filming of the pilot, I experienced Racial Discrimination/Racially Charged inappropriate comments from the hair department and bullying from Executive Producers. During the Season, it continued along with Sexual Harassment from a recurring guest star and the racist commentary & bullying from the Hair Dept. Head escalated into Sexual Assault at our Wrap party. The Sexual Harassment though reported directly to the Showrunner/EP remained undocumented and was not reported to HR as promised. The Hair Dept. Head was fired ONLY after the sexual assault and NOT for an entire year of outward racism/racially charged language and bullying behavior in and out of the Hair and Makeup trailer. HR protocol was never adhered to following the above reports given by me to my Showrunner/EP and an investigation was never issued for any of my claims. The only time I was asked to participate in an investigation was after a meeting I called in June following our Season 2 announcement. This meeting included the Showrunner and two other producers as well as my agent and SAG-AFTRA Union Rep. It was clear to all present in the meeting that the Showrunner had not shared my reports with the any of the producers. After my initial report of sexual harassment, I was assured that the actor would be fired. I was also asked to film with him the very next day as a courtesy to the script, even though we had not begun filming the episode yet. This actor reappeared on our call sheet at the end of the season, I was even written in scenes with him. I asked the Showrunner about this and he admitted to me that the actor had not been fired nor had he gotten HR involved. I was asked to return this season, and promised that “everything was handled.” The investigation hadn’t even begun and Season 2 had already started filming. I turned it down and I walked. Now is the best time in the world to be a woman and I have a platform so it’s time to use my Voice. Strength comes from within. It comes from Above. “Greater is He that is within Me than he that is in the world” ?????? A post shared by Afton Williamson (@therealaftonw) on Aug 4, 2019 at 1:12am PDT 2307

President Donald Trump said on Thursday he did not know about a 0,000 payment made to the adult film actress Stormy Daniels for her silence, his first public acknowledgment of the scandal surrounding an alleged sexual affair that has plagued him for months."No," Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One when questioned about his knowledge of the payment, which was made by his private attorney Michael Cohen in the month before the 2016 election. 465
