SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The city updated the Sherman Heights community and surrounding neighborhoods Wednesday evening, about the transitional homeless storage facility that's set to open.  The facility is scheduled to open at the corner of the Commerical and 20th Streets on June 13.  It's been a controversial project from the beginning. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Surveillance cameras caught two people in a truck turning an alley in El Cerrito into a dumping ground.Just off Dayton Street is one unsightly mess. Maurizio Rios, who lives near the alley, can barely look at it."Feels terrible. It's actually disgusting," said Rios.Right next to a new home construction are two barbecues, two chairs, and parts of a several different tables. "The image is not a good image. It's trash. It's a dump," said Rios.The men who sullied that image were likely not aware that Rios' surveillance cameras were watching.Monday afternoon, just before 3:30 p.m., a pickup truck loaded with stuff was seen driving down Dayton Street and turning into an alley. From several other cameras, the truck is seen driving through the alley, before it finally stops. Two people then get out and begin unloading. More than four minutes later, the truck drives off."It's unbelievable. Why don't they just take it to the dump?" said Rios.Rios filed a police report and delivered a big clue: a clear image of the front license plate. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The Border Patrol says it has experienced a major uptick in violence at the border since the arrival of the migrant caravan. Assaults against agents are up 300 percent compared to this time last year, according to San Diego Border Sector Chief Rodney Scott.An agent was struck in the face shield with a rock thrown at the border on New Year’s Eve and was not injured. “These incursions are organized they are bringing people down there for the express purpose of provoking a confrontation,” said Border Patrol agent Joshua Wilson. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The family of the man killed on India Street on this month has identified him as David Hill. The 38-year-old was a pathology resident at Balboa Naval Hospital. In the Navy since 2004, Hill had reached the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He was an avid traveler, having visited dozens of countries. His mother, Carol Hill, said he had a goal of running a marathon on every continent. Hill had already checked off the hardest, Antarctica, though he had to get creative. “He did the 26 miles on the ship’s treadmill to fill that square!” said Hill's mother. He had made it a few blocks from his apartment when he was struck by the driver of a minivan on India Street near Olive and Palm. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
