A federal judge ordered the Trump administration to fully restore the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program Friday and accept new applicants for the first time since 2017, according to media reports.A judge with the U.S. District Court in Brooklyn told the Department of Homeland Security to post a public notice by Monday that states they will accept DACA petitions from immigrants who qualify and are not currently enrolled.The judge also instructed DHS officials to grant approved applicants work permits that last two years, and not the one year limit the Trump administration had proposed, according to CBS News."DHS is DIRECTED to post a public notice, within 3 calendar days of this Order, to be displayed prominently on its website and on the websites of all other relevant agencies, that it is accepting first-time requests for consideration of deferred action under DACA, renewal requests, and advance parole requests, based on the terms of the DACA program prior to September 5, 2017, and in accordance with this court's Memorandum & Order of November 14, 2020," the judge wrote.The Trump administration tried to end DACA in 2017, but the U.S. Supreme Court ruled against him in June 2020. A canceled chase in Akron, Ohio ended in a two-car crash with both drivers being arrested on warrants, according to police.Police said the crash happened around 1:45 a.m. Wednesday at an intersection.Police said they got behind a red Hyundai that was stolen and tried to pull the driver over when he took off. The driver reached speeds of around 80 mph when a supervisor canceled the chase. Police said the driver continued to accelerate and 30 seconds later they found the car crashed. The Hyundai hit a minivan and then a pole, a fire hydrant, another pole, before eventually coming to rest next door to an Akron fire station. A federal judge has dismissed adult film star Stormy Daniels' defamation lawsuit against President Donald Trump.Daniels sued Trump after he said Daniels' story of a man threatening her not to come forward with her story of her alleged affair with Trump was "a total con job."Daniels argued Trump's tweet "attacks the veracity of her account" of the incident and that Trump's statement was "false and defamatory, and that the tweet was defamation ... because it charged her with committing a serious crime," District Judge S. James Otero wrote in his opinion Monday.Trump had asked Otero to dismiss the lawsuit."The Court agrees with Mr. Trump's argument because the tweet in question constitutes 'rhetorical hyperbole' normally associated with politics and public discourse in the United States. The First Amendment protects this type of rhetorical statement," Otero wrote.Daniels says she and Trump had an affair in 2006, shortly after he married first lady Melania Trump and she gave birth to their son, Barron.
