Scott County Sheriff’s Deputies are working to track down the driver suspected of opening fire during a road rage incident.“Just one person was in a hurry, but it escalated pretty quickly,” said Sgt. Eddie Hart with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.Deputies say a tractor trailer was heading north near mile marker 141 on I-75 in Kentucky when the driver of a black Chevy pick-up truck apparently became angry after the semi driver cut them off.Deputies say the driver of the Chevy opened fire on the semi.“He heard something but didn't know initially what it was until he pulled off the roadway and found a bullet hole in his drivers door and then the bullet was found in the back of seat. So we came inches away from someone getting seriously injured,” said Hart.Deputies obtained video which the victim told them shows the aftermath of the shooting. The footage shows the Chevy pull up behind the victim's semi. The driver of the semi swerves to stop the Chevy from passing.“We don't encourage that we just ask that people call us and let us come and mediate these issues and hopefully resolve them,” said Hart.Deputies say after the shooting the Chevy truck used an emergency turn area to get onto I-75 south and ultimately evade authorities.“Right now we're looking at a minimum wanton endangerment to possibly attempted murder charge. He's firing a gun into a vehicle, and it's a large 80,000 pound vehicle, that if the driver is incapacitated it could cause serious injury to other people,” said Hart.Thankfully no one was hurt, but deputies are now working to track down the suspected shooter. The black Chevy was hauling a trailer and is believed to have stickers of hot rod cars on the back.Deputies can’t make out the tags in the video, and they’re asking anyone who may be able to enhance the video so they can identify the license place to contact them. This article was written by Kylen Mills for 1922
Taco Bell has a tortilla problem. The chain said that some restaurants are experiencing supplier shortages of tortillas, and that it is "working diligently to replenish the supply." Taco Bell, which has about 7,000 locations in the United States, did not share how many restaurants are dealing with shortages."We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause," Taco Bell added in a statement. The tortillas are used for its quesadillas and burritos. Some exasperated social media users complained about the limited menu on Twitter."I am at one of your Greater Rochester area locations and they are out of tortillas!" One user wrote on July 1. Another user complained on June 30 of shortages at a location in Rome, New York. A number said they were told by staff that the Taco Bell shortage is happening at locations nationwide. The shortages do not appear to be impacting Taco Bell's competitors. In response to queries, Chipotle and Qdoba told CNN Business that they are not experiencing shortages. Qdoba noted that it doesn't expect any in the near future.Taco Bell encouraged customers to order menu items that aren't made with tortillas, like the Power Menu Bowl or Cheesy Gordita Crunch.Last year, KFC — which, like Taco Bell and Pizza Hut, is owned by Yum! Brands — faced a chicken shortage so severe it had to temporarily shut down hundreds of restaurants in the United Kingdom. The brand apologized to customers for the inconvenience with a tongue-in-cheek ad. 1479
Regular maintenance is key in keeping your car healthy for a long time. Car owners often get their car prepared for the winter, but auto mechanics say summer is an important time to have maintenance done to your vehicle. Brad Deen, with Import Mechanics in Denver, says there are a few tips you can do to keep your car running in the high heat, and for years to come. “Most important thing getting into the summer months is the cooling system,” he says. “That’s about the biggest thing you’re going to see when it comes to leading to a breakdown.”Deen says start with making sure the fluid levels in your vehicle are correct, like the coolant and oil. We all know a proper oil change is important, but in the summer months, your oil can thin out quickly. That can lead to serious engine problem.“Next, belts and hoses,” he says. “What you are looking for are cracks in belts, cracks in hoses, as well as swelling in the hoses.”Belts and hoses are essential to keeping the cooling and air conditioning system functioning. There’s a misconception that winter is the only season that can destroy a car’s battery due to temps.“The high temperatures in the summer can actually lead to the acid in the battery to evaporate faster,” Deen explains. “Then, all of a sudden, you can find yourself with a battery that is not charged.”Also, the heat from the asphalt can deflate your tires. “Tires are a safety issue any season,” he says. “Making sure the pressure is correct is paramount.”Lastly, getting a full-service maintenance on your vehicle every 12,000 miles is also a great idea. 1588
