SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego's Maritime Museum is giving families the chance to spend the night on the seas — but stay in San Diego.The museum's "Family Overnight" program offers a stay aboard the Star of India, the oldest active sailing ship in the world. Families will embark on imaginary voyage learning about the lives and times of the India's passengers in the 19th century.Instructors will be in character and in costume, as they teach various ship-centric tasks like moving cargo and raising sails. Rather than exchanging money, there's a point system. "I was just trying to find cheaper ways to babysit, and my mom told me about a co-op that people did way back when she was a mom," said McCollough.McCollough uses the platform Komae to organize the exchange. Two Akron, Ohio moms developed the app after they started an old fashioned co-op with ten friends. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police requested the public’s help Thursday to identify a man suspected of buying an Apple MacBook and iPhones through identity theft and credit card fraud. The man used a fake ID card with the victim’s real information to access the victim’s account at the Verizon store on Sports Arena Blvd. June 9, police said. Two new Apple iPhone X’s worth ,500 were added to the victim’s account. Police said the man also went to the Best Buy on Mission Center Road and bought a MacBook worth ,000 through the victim’s store credit card. The victim has no knowledge of how his information was accessed, police said. Investigators said the suspect is a white man in his mid 20s to mid 30s, heavy set, with short dark hair. He had a beard and was wearing sunglasses when he shopped. Anyone with information was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477. 885

  

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- SeaWorld San Diego is set to close Wednesday as another round of storms move through the county. According to a SeaWorld spokesperson, the park will be closed December 4 due to “forecasted inclement weather, including periods of significant rain and possible thunderstorms.”“The safety of our guests and employees is our top priority,” the park said in a statement. Rain is expected to become widespread by Wednesday morning with periods of heavy rain, possible thunderstorms, localized flooding and heavy rain, according to 10News Meteorologist Megan Parry. As a result of the rain, the National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch for Wednesday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for San Diego County’s coastal areas, valleys and mountains.
