LITTLETON, Colo. — Watch out! A Grinch is tip-toeing around outside windows of unsuspecting children, to bring delight and a moment of joy this holiday season.In a neighborhood full of Christmas cheer, the Grinch was ready to strike with fear. He didn’t exactly attempt to hide as the children sat inside.Dressed from head-to-toe as the Grinch, Ethan Hecker, 14, banged on the window of a home and was met with laughter and joy, but little did they know, he was there to steal their Christmas cheer.“My goal is to scare the kiddos, let them have some fun,” Hecker said.Allison Hecker, Ethan’s mom, came across a post online of a girl dressed up as the Grinch scaring kids and moving things around in the yard. Ethan says as soon as he saw it, he knew he wanted to do it himself and begged his mom for the costume.“Ethan loves the theatrics and kids and it was perfect,” she said.Hecker ordered the costume and it arrived on Monday. That same day, they posted on social media.“He is asking per visit--he will spend 5-7 minutes creeping around the outside of your home while your kids scream with excitement (or fear),” the Facebook post read.Hecker says they were flooded with requests for the Grinch to stop at homes and birthdays.“We’ve had 10 (bookings), so far and he has about 50-55 booked,” she said.The money Ethan raises will go into savings and help him buy a car. He’s only 14 years old but wants to be ready when it’s time to get his license.Sarah Quinn saw the post online and booked the Grinch to surprise her kids.“I thought it would be a really great way for us to support him and also do something fun for the kids this year when we are limited on doing a lot of our other normal holiday activities,” Quinn said.“2020 sucked for everybody and this is a good way for him to bring some joy in a safe way,” Hecker said.On a bitter night, the sound of pure and priceless laughter fills the air.“They’re super excited, my 5-year-old especially, he’s going to have a really hard time going to bed tonight,” Quinn said.Naughty or nice, you better watch out; the Grinch may drop by.“I’m hoping to do this for the next two years,” Ethan said.So far, Ethan has raised about 0 for his car after paying his mom back for the costume.This story originally reported by Adi Guajardo on TheDenverChannel.com. 2322

She was rescued by a Californian Olympian in South Korea - and will soon be available for adoption in San Diego County. Snowboarder Maddie mastro rescued Jadu. Mastro is an animal activist and knew the dog meat trade is big business in Korea, so she changed her flight and flew on a dog-friendly carrier to LAX.  430

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities believe rising rapper Pop Smoke was shot and killed during a Los Angeles home-invasion robbery in February after his social media posts led five suspects to the house he was renting. Police arrested the suspects Thursday morning in Los Angeles. Pop Smoke's legal name is Bashar Barakah Jackson. Police had initially discounted a robbery theory in the days after the 20-year-old New York rapper's death Feb. 19 at a home in the Hollywood Hills. Now, authorities say the group likely went to the home because they knew Pop Smoke was there from the social media posts. 604

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A fiery crash involving a big rig has injured three people, two critically, and backed up traffic on a Southern California freeway for miles.Authorities say a truck loaded with concrete and gravel hit a car shortly before 3 p.m. Monday on northbound Interstate 405 in the busy Sepulveda Pass area of Los Angeles. The trailer overturned on top of the car, pinning someone underneath and both vehicles burst into flames.Bystanders stopped and managed to pull the trapped person and two others to safety.However, the three reportedly suffered burns, including the truck driver. Two people were hospitalized in critical condition and the third was in fair condition.Lanes on both sides of the freeway were closed, backing up both northbound and southbound traffic. 787

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A third Los Angeles police officer has tested positive for the coronavirus and was exhibiting symptoms inside the Los Angeles Police Department's Central Division station for several days this week, according to the department.The officer, who had recently returned from a vacation out of the country, was "coughing and sweating" during roll call in Central Division, which patrols areas that include downtown L.A., two of the officials said.Despite protests from several officers in the station, the affected officer was allowed to work for at least two days this week, according to the Los Angeles Times.The officer was tested for the virus, and a positive result came back Saturday, according to three law enforcement officials. Additional officers who worked with the afflicted patrol officer were expected to be quarantined, officials said.Saturday night, the LAPD reported that it had disinfected all of the officer's work spaces and common areas inside Central Division."We have also identified anyone who may have come into contact with the employee and directed them to contact their healthcare provider for evaluation," the LAPD reported.The department said it also established guidelines for all employees who either exhibit symptoms of the virus or cone in contact with someone who may be infected.
