WASHINGTON — The White House has announced a ban on travel to the U.S. from Brazil due to the spread of coronavirus in Latin America’s hardest-hit country.Press secretary Kayleigh McEnany says in a statement Sunday evening that the ban applies to foreign nationals who have been in Brazil in the 14 days before they sought to travel to the United States.McEnany cast it as a move by President Donald Trump “to protect our country.”Trump has already banned travel from the United Kingdom, Europe and China, all of which have been hit hard by the virus. Trump had said last week that he was considering imposing similar restrictions on Brazil.Brazil had reported more than 347,000 COVID-19 cases, second behind the U.S. in the number of infections, according to a Johns Hopkins University count.Brazil also has recorded more than 22,000 deaths, fifth-most in the world. There have been more than 97,000 U.S. deaths. 925

Utah Jazz Rudy Gobert apologized on Thursday after testing positive for the coronavirus, which caused the NBA to cancel Wednesday's game between the Jazz and Thunder. Later in the evening on Wednesday, the NBA decided to indefinitely suspend play for all 30 teams. Earlier in the week, Gobert jokingly touched reporters' microphones at the end of a news conference. The touching came as public health officials recommend keeping objects disinfected and people engage in social distancing. Gobert's actions happened before he came down with any symptoms of coronavirus. It was learned on Thursday that a fellow member of the Jazz also tested positive for coronavirus. "I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of concern and support over the last 24 hours," Gobert said. "I have gone through so many emotions since learning of my diagnosis…mostly fear, anxiety, and embarrassment."The first and most important thing is I would like to publicly apologize to the people that I may have endangered. At the time, I had no idea I was even infected. I was careless and make no excuse. I hope my story serves as a warning and causes everyone to take this seriously. I will do whatever I can to support using my experience as way to educate others and prevent the spread of this virus ."I am under great care and will fully recover. Thank you again for all your support. I encourage everyone to take all of the steps to stay safe and healthy. Love." 1455

We've all been there. The first-day-of-school jitters. For one Wisconsin student it started on the school bus, last week.Axel started 4K last week, which is a pre-kindergarten year for kids 4 and under in an elementary school setting. His mom, Amy Johnson, wanted to mark the occasion by taking a picture of him on the school bus.Instead of a smile, Johnson got tears and a red face."He was super excited to go, but when the bus came around corner he was really quiet," she told CNN. "The bus opened the door and I looked at him and he started crying."Johnson said she picked Axel up to seat him on the bus but he was clinging onto her. That's when the bus driver, Isabel Lane, comforted him by showing him an open seat right behind her."I told him, 'Buddy, you got this and will have so much fun,' " Johnson said.Lane told CNN that Johnson was trying to get off the bus, but Axel kept grabbing for her."I stuck my hand behind the seat as maybe something else to grab onto and he grabbed my hand," Lane said.Johnson said she got off the bus but turned around, still wanting her "perfect picture." That's when she captured the image. The Augusta Police Department posted the photo of the pair on 1206
