LA MESA, Calif. (KGTV) -- A La Mesa woman is recovering after she says she was attacked during the protest on Saturday night. Eleyna Bedolla said she was not protesting and she is not sure if the man that attacked her was a protester. Bedolla told 10News she heard commotion in her neighborhood so she went for a walk to check out what was happening. When she noticed the demonstration, she said she started to make her way back home along Palm Avenue. That's when a man approached her with a baseball bat and asked her, "Who the hell do you think you are?"Bedolla said she told the man she was trying to get home, but she said he grabbed her and threw her into the street, hitting her with a bat in the leg. He also tried to hit her head, but Bedolla said she was able to protect herself with her hand. She suffered a broken hand and large bruising on her legs. According to Bedolla, La Mesa police were nearby and officers were able to arrest the man. She wants others to be careful when deciding to go out and protest. 10News reached out to the La Mesa Police Department to ask about the arrest, but so far have not heard back. 1139

LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A young girl born without an arm now has a prosthetic one after teachers at Sunshine Elementary in Lehigh Acres made an arm just for her.It's a dream come true for student Dulce Jaimes.  "I didn't know what was happening until Mr. Demeri showed up," Dulce said. The third grader was born without half an arm, but recently received a prosthetic one after her teacher decided to use a 3-D printer to make one. "She was perfect before the arm," teacher Rachel Canino said.  "Now that she has the arm, she's a celebrity."A celebrity who's an extra helping hand for her family.  "I can help my mom out with my brother," Dulce said. "When I get two yogurts because they're small, I let the other one carry it and I hold the other one." Eric Demeri, who made Dulce's arm, started the 3-D printing lab back in the fall. He said originally the lab was for printing things like pencil holders. But after getting word of Dulce's situation he was up for the challenge of something bigger.Demeri said he had never printed something that took more than six hours. But Dulce's arm took nearly 40 hours, with some failed attempts. Eventually, he got it right.  "When I actually got it to work and I had my daughter testing it out, I'm like, ‘This is going to be, this is going to be pretty big for Dulce,’" he said.Now she's lifting water bottles, pencils and pretty much anything she can get her hands on.She said she was thankful."It was really nice of you," she said.  "I was excited, and thank you Mr. Demeri."   1638

LANCASTER, Calif. (CNS) - A man was in custody Wednesday following his arrest for allegedly killing a fellow patient at Antelope Valley Hospital in Lancaster, where both men were being treated for COVID-19, authorities said.Jesse Martinez, 37, was booked on suspicion of murder and his bail was set at million, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.Martinez has been charged with murder, a hate crime enhancement, and elder abuse, according to the sheriff's department, which reported that he is scheduled to appear in Antelope Valley Court on Monday.The crime occurred about 9:45 a.m. Dec. 17 at the facility, where both men were being treated for COVID-19, the sheriff's department reported."(The victim) was housed in a two-person room inside the hospital with the suspect, who was also there receiving treatment," a sheriff's department statement said. "The suspect became upset when the victim started to pray. He then struck the victim with an oxygen tank."The name of the 82-year-old victim, who died the following day, was withheld, pending notification of his relatives.The victim and suspect did know one another, the sheriff's department reported. 1188

Liquidation sales are finally starting at hundreds of Toys R Us and Babies R Us stores around the US, as the troubled toy retailer begins the process of going out of business.Most stores will start their liquidation sales Thursday, March 22, at 10 a.m. or when doors open.Millions of parents and children are dreaming of bargains on Barbies and savings on Star Wars. But before you grab an empty shopping cart and start hunting for Black Friday-style bargains, you may want to know a few cautions.If earlier Toys R Us closing sales are any indication, among the 200 stores that started liquidating in February, you may want to bring some skepticism along with your wallet. We went to one store at the beginning of its closing sale,and shoppers said they were not impressed.So here are 9 commonly asked questions:1. How big are the discounts? In the first week, they may not be great.  We found signs saying "up to 40 percent off," but most items had much less of a discount than 40 percent?off. Ten or 20 percent off was more the norm in the first few days, and 10 percent off may not be any great deal.2. Will they discount recent sales prices?  No, as with any liquidation sale, discounts are off full list price. Because of that, our check found that Lego sets and video games like Call of Duty were no cheaper than the same items at Walmart, despite the 20 percent markdown.3. Is everything on markdown? What about the Babies R Us gift registry?  That will stay open until the stores close, but parents of newborns may want to start a new registry somewhere else.  8. Is Babies R Us really closing?
