OTAY MESA, Calif (KGTV) - A peace gathering was held Saturday night for the family of Maribel Ibanez, the woman shot and killed at an Otay Mesa Church's Chicken.About 100 people lent support at the gathering, telling Maribel's mother, Emma Carla Merino, she wasn't alone.Maribel Ibanez and two male employees were shot Nov. 6 by a man who has yet to be found. The two male victims survived.At Saturday's gathering, a mural was painted of a flying candle with the name Maribel in script underneath. People spoke of love conquering violence. Musicians played, flowers and candles were passed out, and there were prayers."I feel hurt but I feel peace because she is already resting," Merino said. Officials with Operation Warp Speed confirmed Wednesday that they remain on track in their goal to distribute 20 million initial doses of COVID-19 vaccines by the end of the month.Health and Human Services Sec. Alex Azar, as well as Operation Warp Speed chief medical adviser Dr. Moncef Slaoui and the operation's chief operating officer Gen. Gus F. Perna, said Wednesday that the first shipments of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine were delivered largely without issue.The briefing comes just two days after medical centers across the country began administering the first initial doses of a COVID-19 vaccine made by Pfizer. That vaccine was approved for Emergency Use Authorization by the FDA last Friday and was formally recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention over the weekend.The briefing also comes a day before a vote by an FDA panel on whether to recommend a COVID-19 vaccine produced by Moderna for Emergency Use Authorization. Should the panel vote in favor of the recommendation, it would keep the Moderna vaccine on track for authorization by next week.In a report released Tuesday, the FDA reaffirmed Moderna's safety and efficacy statistics that were published following the conclusion of the drug's Phase III trial. One person is dead and seven others injured following a vehicle crash involving an Ypsilanti school bus on eastbound I-94 Tuesday morning.The accident occurred around 10:15 a.m. Pittsfield Township Fire Department, Ann Arbor Fire Department and Michigan State Police responded to the scene after a SUV rear-ended a disabled Ypsilanti school bus at the eastbound I-94 exit.The bus was being provided tow assistance for a flat tire. There were no students on the bus at the time, according to the Ypsilanti School District.Police report that the driver of the vehicle, including three infants inside, were trapped after crashing into the school bus.The three children were transported to the University of Michigan Mott Children's Hospital in serious condition. Two people were transported to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in critical condition, and the tow truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene. He was reportedly at the rear of the bus when the accident happened. According to a release, there were also two additional 'walking wounded' injuries caused from the crash.     1144
