A woman who gave birth alone in her jail cell in Denver is suing the city after jail deputies and nurses allegedly ignored her pleas for help during about five hours of labor.Silent surveillance video released by her lawyer shows Diana Sanchez eventually lying down on a narrow bed, crying out in pain, before she pulls off her pants and deliveries a baby boy in July 2018.The federal lawsuit filed Wednesday says a van was requested to take Sanchez to the hospital. But jail workers knew the ride likely wouldn't be available for hours until after the morning booking process was finished. The Denver County Sheriff's Department said Thursday that it has since changed its policy to ensure that pregnant inmates who are in any stage of labor are immediately taken to the hospital. The agency declined to comment on the lawsuit. 839

A melee marred the end of Thursday's NFL game that saw the Cleveland Browns defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers 21-7, in a battle between two traditional rivals. With just eight seconds remaining, Browns defender Myles Garrett ripped the helmet off of Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph. Garrett then used the helmet to strike Rudolph. This came as players from both the Browns and Steelers were exchanging punches and shoves. The incident began when Rudolph made a short pass while Garrett was attempting a sack. As the two players were on the ground, it appeared Rudolph may have been either trying to remove Garrett's helmet, or had his hand stuck in Garrett's helmet. Then Garrett pulled Rudolph's lid off, and Rudolph responded by getting into a shoving match with Garrett. That is when Garrett struck Rudolph in the head with Rudolph's helmet. In a postgame interview with Fox Sports' Erin Andrews, Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield called Garrett's actions inexcusable, and predicted that Garrett would be suspended. "I don't care rivalry or not, we can't do that," Mayfield said. "That is just endangering the other team."Garrett himself called his actions "foolish.""I shouldn't allow myself to slip like that. It's out of character," Garrett said.Browns QB Baker Mayfield joined 1296

ALBANY, N.Y. — New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is ordering all workers in non-essential businesses in the state to stay home to help combat the spread of COVID-19, the illness caused by the new coronavirus. The mandate will exclude pharmacies, grocery stores and other essential industries, according to Cuomo. The governor also announced that he's banning gatherings statewide. Non-essential gatherings of individuals of any size or for any reason are canceled or postponed. "First rule, only essential businesses will be functioning. People can work at home, but only essential businesses can have workers commuting to the job or on the job. Second rule, remain indoors to the greatest extent to protect physical and mental health," Cuomo said during a press conference.Cuomo said the state will implement a 90-day moratorium on evictions for residential and commercial tenants. "We will do all we can to help those financially suffering because of the #COVID19 pandemic," he tweeted. The governor also announced "Matilda's Law" that is designed to protect New Yorkers who are 70 years old or up and those with compromised immune systems. Cuomo will sign an executive order over the mandates on Friday. The moves come as Cuomo announced nearly 3,000 new COVID-19 cases overnight, bringing the state's total cases to 7,102 as of Friday. At least 38 people have died as a result of the virus in the state, according to figures from 1437
