SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A mother and son who died in a shooting at a Linda Vista home earlier this week were identified by San Diego police.On Dec. 7, at around 3:15 a.m., officers were called to a home in the 2200 block of Crandall Drive in response to a shooting.Responding officers found a man and a woman inside the home with gunshot wounds to their upper bodies, according to police.The woman, identified as 46-year-old Hue Le, died from her injuries at the hospital.RELATED: Mother dead, son gravely injured in Linda Vista shootingThe injured man, identified as the deceased woman’s 28-year-old son Justin Le, was placed on life support but police said he passed away on Tuesday evening.According to police, Justin Le’s injuries appeared to be self-inflicted.The case is being investigated as an apparent murder-suicide, San Diego police said.No other details on the case were released. 895

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man attempting to kill weeds set his house on fire in San Diego on Sunday morning, according to firefighters.The man was trying to use a hand-held propane torch to kill the weeds in a planter box in front of his property when the plants caught fire.Shortly after the plants caught fire, the flames spread to the rest of the house.Firefighters arrived quickly and were able to extinguish the flames in about 5 minutes.Authorities estimate there is about ,000 in damage to the house.No one was injured. 533

The woman successfully opened accounts at several stores but failed on other attempts.More than ,000 was charged before the accounts were closed.The victim contacted the San Diego Police Department upon learning the accounts were being opened. He or she did not know how the suspect gained access to private information.Investigators say the woman is African-American, blonde, and between 25 and 35 years old.Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A new grant for City Heights businesses in San Diego is aimed at helping small businesses get back on their feet after pandemic impacts.The City Heights Business Relief Fund has so far grown to 0,000 and that money will go to businesses in the area. Each business can get up to ,000. To be eligible, the business must be located within City Heights. The priority is on businesses owned by women and/or minorities that are already established in the community who have not received other relief funds. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man who led police on pursuit was arrested early Monday morning after spending 45 minutes on the roof of a Webster home.San Diego police officers attempted to stop a dark colored Kia shortly before 12:30 a.m. on 49th and Federal Blvd. after the driver was seen driving recklessly.The driver crashed into an embankment and pole on Marilou Road, and that's when police said the suspect jumped out and took off running.Police chased the man for several blocks, even jumping fences and running through backyards. The suspect then climb on top of a home, leaping across rooftops trying to get away, but was surrounded.The suspect sat on the rooftop on Brookline street and told officers he would not come down until they put their guns down.The suspect eventually surrendered 45 minutes later. Firefighters were called in to put a ladder up and help get him down.He's being evaluated for DUI and faces felony evading charges. 950
