(KGTV) - Chula Vista Mayor Mary Salas outlined the city’s recent accomplishments and layed out its future goals in her fourth State of the City Address Tuesday night. Salas went over the growth and achievements San Diego County's second-largest city has seen over the last year, including neighborhood revitalization and the approval of the Bayfront Project. During the address, Salas spoke about events that drew large crowds over the last year.Salas said the city’s Fourth of July celebration in 2017 drew a crowd of 15,000 while more than 35,000 people attended HarborFest on the Bayfront.RELATED: Port of San Diego, Chula Vista moves forward with bayfront developmentThe Mayor also spoke about growth happening in Third Avenue Village citing the Lemon Fest, Taste of Third and Village Summer Nights in June. A popular topic throughout California in recent years is infrastructure. (KGTV) — In only a couple of days, the Camp Fire spread to engulf thousands of acres, decimate a northern California town, and force thousands to flee.High winds, dry brush, and low humidity have fueled the fire's spread since Thursday. (KGTV) - A San Diego homeless advocate known as “Waterman Dave” died Monday after a long battle with brain cancer.David Ross, 83, was known for using his own Social Security income to buy water for the homeless. He also found sponsors for portable restrooms. In 2010, Ross filed a lawsuit against a San Diego Police officer who Ross said assaulted him while he was handing out water in East Village. Ross said he suffered a concussion and torn rotator cuff. (CNN) -- President Donald Trump announced Friday that he will "temporarily hold off" designating Mexican drug cartels as terrorist organizations as he said he would last week. "All necessary work has been completed to declare Mexican Cartels terrorist organizations.
