Then she added: “I have two words to leave with you tonight, ladies and gentlemen: inclusion rider.”In the post-show speeches, she explained what those precious words mean - and how surprised she is that she never knew them before. "I just found out about this last week," she said. Live music might feel like a thing of the past, but venues and event organizers are working on ideas to bring it back sooner rather than later in the age of COVID-19.Ticketmaster says it has been working with event organizers and venues to navigate how they plan to admit fans to live sporting events and concerts once a vaccine is released.On Wednesday, Pfizer updated its vaccine efficacy, saying it is 95 percent effective and is seeking clearance soon. Earlier in the week, Moderna announced its vaccine also was 95 percent effective.Ticketmaster says it has discussed the idea of using a person’s vaccine status as a possible barometer of protection for admittance into events. In an email, the company said, “In short, we are not forcing anyone to do anything. Just exploring the ability to enhance our existing digital ticket capabilities to offer solutions for event organizers that could include testing and vaccine information with 3rd party health providers. Just a tool in the box for those that may want to use.”Here is how Ticketmaster says it might work: People who wanted to attend an event would upload their vaccine status through an app that connects to a third-party health care provider. That company would store the information and keep all other details private, abiding by HIPAA laws, according to Ticketmaster. That provider would then mark that person’s status so they could present their digital ticket along with their vaccine status at the event.Ticketmaster says this would not be mandatory, noting “Ticketmaster does not have the power to set policies around safety/entry requirements, which would include vaccines and/or testing protocols. (KGTV) -- The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department identified the scuba diver found dead nine miles off the coast of Long Beach on the ocean floor as Henry Cook, 55, of La Jolla.Cook was scuba diving near an oil platform Saturday afternoon with another diver when something went wrong.Deputies got a "diver in distress" call 12:30 p.m. Saturday near oil platform Elly.A Los Angeles Sheriff’s helicopter responded and hoisted a scuba diver out of a Lifeguard boat, then flew the diver to Catalina Island and was treated in a hyperbaric chamber.Sunday, searchers returned to the area with a remote-controlled underwater robot and located Cook’s body on the ocean floor 200-feet down.Los Angeles County is conducting an autopsy to determine how Cook died. 780

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Barron Hilton, the hotelier and philanthropist who led the Hilton hotel chain, has died in Los Angeles at age 91.Hilton, who succeeded his father, Conrad Hilton, as president and chief executive officer of Hilton Hotels Corp. in 1966 and served in that capacity for 30 years, died Thursday at his home, according to an obituary provided by the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation.He was invited by his father to join Hilton Hotels Corp. in 1954 as a vice president, the foundation said.After taking over as president and CEO, "he was known for creating shareholder value and expanding through innovative real estate transactions, including franchising and a bold move into the Las Vegas gaming market," the statement said. "From 1966 to 1996, he generated an average annual rate of return to shareholders of 15% with dividends."Hilton was the founding owner of the Los Angeles Chargers of the American Football League."Simply put, the modern NFL would not be what it is today without the vision of Barron Hilton," Chargers owner and Chairman of the Board Dean Spanos said.Under Hilton's leadership, the team, which moved to San Diego in 1961 following its inaugural season, won five divisional titles and one AFL championship during his six years as owner.
