(KGTV) — Two people escape unscathed after making an emergency landing at Brown Field Tuesday.The aircraft was forced to the ground around 4:30 p.m., landing in a grassy area at the airfield. PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) — Authorities say a police officer has been fatally shot and another was injured in an exchange of gunfire at an Arkansas hotel. Pine Bluff Chief Kelvin Sergeant says Officer Kevin Collins was killed in the shooting Monday afternoon at the EconoLodge in Pine Bluff, about 40 miles southeast of Little Rock. Lt. Ralph Isaac was also injured in the shooting and is in stable condition. Police say the shooting involved three officers and one suspect. OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Forever 21 is one of a handful of stores that allows men and women to try on clothes in the same area.Now, some shoppers believe it might be time for a change.This comes after a man was charged for allegedly recording a woman and a girl inside a Forever 21 changing room at the Overland Park mall.“For a place like this, I don't think that's appropriate at all to have men, women and children in the same dressing room at all,” said Jaymee Henderson, who shops at Forever 21.Scripps station KSHB in Kansas City sat down with an attorney to find out what the laws are when it comes to recording video in a clothing store like this.Attorney Bernie Rhodes said anything within the store is fair game."If I want to walk into a Forever 21 store and put my cell phone in my breast pocket and film my interaction with the sales clerk, that's perfectly legal,” said Rhodes.But once you get to the dressing room area, the rules change."What a store can't do is install a security camera in the bathroom or dressing rooms because there we have what we call an expectation of privacy. The same is true for perverts,” said Rhodes.Rhodes said a person can record themselves in the dressing room with their own device.In the Forever 21 dressing rooms, there is a large gap between the floor and the fitting room wall. That’s how prosecutors allege a man took video of a girl and a woman on his cell phone.A petition on Change.org is calling on the store to separate their dressing rooms by gender, but Rhodes believes that change won’t prevent people from breaking the law."It falls upon the individual who is acting illegally, he or she knows what they're doing is wrong. Outside his home, Joshua Nola and his dog, Bud, love spending time together on their daily walks.“No matter what, when I come home, he’s always happy," Nola said. "He’s always in a great mood. He always has a smile on his face."It’s a bond he values deeply. Nola is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, who deployed to Afghanistan and when he returned home, felt something was off.“I’ve dealt with depression with stuff, dealing with a little bit of survivor’s guilt,” he said. “I have friends that I knew in the Marine Corps, whether on their deployment or after coming home, who just aren’t here anymore. And it got to the point where I was tired of burying brothers.”Those feelings are not unusual for veterans. The VA says more than 1.7 million veterans get treatment for mental health each year.Enter the non-profit Pets For Patriots.“Very simply, Pets For Patriots seeks to give veterans a new pet friend, while saving the most overlooked, undervalued shelter dogs and cats around the country,” said Beth Zimmerman, who founded the nonprofit.Zimmerman said the organization works to help veterans heal emotionally while helping pets in need do the same.“There were two different populations--veterans and shelter animals--that had different, but very complementary needs,” she said. “And if I could find a way to bring them together in a really intelligent way and an innovative way, that it would help both of them.”In the 10 years since Pets For Patriots began, the program has paired together nearly 3,000 veterans with shelter pets around the country. They help not just with the adoption, but also with the pet’s lifelong care.“We inspire veterans to adopt these animals by providing a range of benefits to make pet adoption affordable over the life of that pet,” Zimmerman said.Yet, it amounts to more than that, said Nola.“They’re constantly in contact. They’re asking how I’m doing, how [Bud’s] doing, " Nola said. PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – From China to Egypt and beyond, the halls of history span the globe.Yet, it’s been lonesome lately in those halls at some of the 35,000 museums across the country.“We, of course, wanted to reopen as soon as we could and safe a manner as we could,” said Melissa Smith, CEO of the Penn Museum in Philadelphia.It’s one of the few major museums to recently reopen to visitors, after coronavirus restrictions forced them to close their doors for months.“For the most part, it's business as usual with our exhibits,” Smith said.First, though, a task force of 35 museum employees needed to figure out what changes might be needed.“We had to look at a number of things,” Smith said.Among the changes: masks are a must, hand sanitizing stations are now located throughout the museum, clear partitions were installed to protect staff who interact with visitors and benches were marked off, so people can sit socially-distanced.Also, arrows now line the stairs and floors, carefully choreographing how visitors move through the exhibits.“They asked us to follow the arrows and it kind of was a different museum experience, but also I think very helpful, just because there wasn't any confusion,” said museum visitor Soheil Eshghi.There are a few other changes, too: some of the exhibits around the museum have touchscreens, so visitors can dig a little deeper into what’s on display and learn more. The museum is now giving out a disposable stylus to visitors, so they can safely use the touchscreens.Visitors said they don’t mind the changes and are just happy for the chance to come back.“I think that’s one of the things that I've been missing the most since all this shutdown started happening,” said Camille Lawhead, who was visiting the museum.Now, visitors no longer need to be missing it. 1813
