BEIJING, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- A Foreign Ministry spokesman on Saturday asked India to work with China to maintain peace and stability in border areas.
Philanthropy in China has made great progress in recent years, said Li, noting that the number of non-governmental organizations established in China has hit 457,500, and most of them are involved in public service.
He also urged the region to make full use of its advantages in the legal system, its talent pool, as well as in the international finance, trade and shipping industries, to promote its economy's competitiveness and ensure the region's long-term prosperity and stability.
"We sincerely hope that Afghanistan will realize peace and stability at an early date," he said.
China entered its first offer to join the pact in 2007, but it was turned down as the offer did not include local governments' spending.
