SUNSET CLIFFS, Calif., (KGTV) - There are mounting concerns about the stability of the some of the bluffs at Sunset Cliffs. The City of San Diego was tipped off about the cliff collapse near Hill Street last week. City crews surveyed the collapse then cordoned it off with yellow caution tape to discourage people from getting to close to the section in question. The city says the collapses are likely from rain. “There is a big crack there right up against the edge where it looks like that’s the next piece that’s going to fall,” said photographer Jim Grant, “it’s a good thing that somebody came in and put some protection up.” Grant spends nearly everyday photographing the cliffs and says he has seen his fair share of people getting too close. “They don’t realize that one slip and when you fall 60 or 70 feet, it leaves a permanent mark that’s for sure,” added Grant. Officials urge people to avoid the section that has collapsed and to always use caution when traversing through Sunset Cliffs. The city says it will have its engineers evaluate the section after this weekend’s weather before determining what steps to take next. 1145

TAMPA, Fla. -- A commercial about child hunger inspired Kennedy McCormick to take action when she just 7 years old.“I felt really bad for the children, so I wanted to do something to help,” said McCormick, now 14.For her birthday that year, she wanted to collect food instead of getting presents.“So we had a party and that’s exactly what happened. Everybody brought food,” said her father, Kelvin.Kennedy has carried on that tradition every year, teaming up with Feeding Tampa Bay to make sure the donations get to those in need.“The more I’ve done it. The more donations I’ve gotten over the years,” said Kennedy.This year with the pandemic, she held a virtual fundraiser, raising about ,000.All her hard work got noticed by General Mills and they surprised her with a donation like she’s never seen before: two truckloads of Cheerios. That’s 48,000 boxes.“I was extra surprised when I saw the truck drive by because I thought it was only going to be the cereal over there and then there was a truck. Synthetic weed tainted with rat poison has made its way to Milwaukee and it’s been linked to at least three illnesses in the city in 24 hours. Dr. Jon Meiman with the state health department says the effects of the fake drug can be “unpredictable,” with side effects ranging from nausea to seizures and even death. "The synthetic cannabinoids that we're seeing here are causing severe bleeding, and that's very unusual,” Meiman said. The synthetic pot can be found at gas stations and other convenience stores sold under names like K2 or Spice. The drug is meant to minim the effects of marijuana but can be far more dangerous. "They work on the same parts of the brain that marijuana does, but they can have very different effects depending on the specific chemicals," Meiman said. The health department says it’s sent two people to the hospital in Milwaukee. In nearby Chicago, the poison-laced product is linked to three deaths. Health officials are trying to trace the source of the rat poison-synthetic pot.  1061
