Two people were shot and killed at a Kroger store in Jeffersontown, Kentucky, the police chief said Wednesday.The suspect is in custody, according to Chief Sam Rogers. There was no known motive and it appears the victims were shot at random, he said.The unidentified suspect entered the store and fired multiple shots at a man inside, killing him. The suspect left, encountered a woman in the parking lot and fatally shot her, Roger said.An unnamed armed citizen in the parking lot exchanged gunfire with the suspect; neither was struck. The suspect fled the scene and was apprehended nearby, police said.A Jeffersontown police dispatcher said officers remain on the scene."We are shocked and saddened by the shooting incident that occurred around 2:30 p.m. today," Kroger said. The threat was made from one student to another at Design 39 (17050 Del Sur Ridge Rd), school district officials told 10News. They did not elaborate on the nature of the threat. Classes remained underway Friday afternoon about 2:30 p.m. but the classroom doors were locked. San Diego Police were called to the scene to investigate the situation. Tucson police Chief Chris Magnus offered his resignation during a press conference on Wednesday.Magnus made the announcement about an April 21 incident in which a man died while in police custody.The AP reported the man who died was 27-year-old Carlos Ingram-Lopez.The medical examiner’s office didn’t determine a manner of death but said Ingram-Lopez died of sudden cardiac arrest while intoxicated by cocaine and physically restrained, the Associated Press reported.Magnus has served in the role since January 2016.
